Brown color with a thick head. Lots of spices in the nose. The spices return when tasting the beer. Sweet, some chocolate. tomer (3517) - Rishon Le Zion, ISRAEL - JAN 29, 2014
At a tasting, thanks tom, big off white head, hazy deep brown colour, aroma of graphite, dried fruits, winey notes, candle wax and some alcohol, bready malty flavour with some sour fruitiness, very light bitterness. Not too exciting. markextrae (4424) - Alingsås, SWEDEN, SWEDEN - JAN 26, 2014
shared bottle. didn’t know it still had this one in my cellar. big pop by opening the cork. poured a deep brown hazy colour with a tan head. chocolate, red fruits, figs, yeast, some balanced spices, small spiced chille in the back. smooth mouthfeel. and crispy finish. beer reminds me a bit to the pannepot from the struise. but with more spices and chiles. Ageing did this one good. Dark, thick, some spice in nose. The taste featured a good balance of citrus, chocolate, cinnamon. Very good drinkability. DSG (14784) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - JAN 22, 2014
Bottle sample at a tasting at Beer Market Jaffa. Thanks Tom L. Dark brown with a beige head. Aroma of dark fruits, malt, caramel, a licorice note, mild spiciness and a bit of alcohol. Sweet flavor, a bit sourish, with malt, lots of dark fruits, chocolate, caramel and a slightly alcoholic finish. Medium to full-bodied, kinda silky.

Bottle - drink after 21/12/12. Very dark - almost black with a slight red tinge. Big foamy beige head endures, thick lacing. Smell - yeast and milky instant coffee. Body is medium to light and very foamy. Typical of Belgian style beers but really not my type of thing. Taste - malts, spice, sweetened milky coffee or chicory, dank cave (if that counts as a flavour) alcohol comes through noticeably but not as much as it could at 10.5%, tamarind is there as advertised. True to the style and decent enough. Boekanier (57) - NETHERLANDS - JAN 3, 2014
Pours a dark brown beer with a light brown head. Aroma: complex and slightly spicy. Palate: sweet, tiny bit spicy and a lot of malty bitterness in the finish. Mouthfeel: mild carbonation, bit sticky. A little disappointing, still ok though. merc7186 (3142) - North Tonawanda, New York, USA - DEC 12, 2013

Pours dark bown to black, big khaki head.
Smell big fruity, almost a bit of a lactic tartness, bit of roast, mostly fruit
Taste spicy cinnamon, astringent, hot, belgian yeast, bit of raisin, off flavors
Think this went bad :( harrymel (1551) - Spokane, Washington, USA - DEC 4, 2013
Best after 12/21/12
Pours dark brown with a rim of light yellow foam. Smells of candy sugar, dark malts, belgian esters, a touch of cinnamon and a little ever so slight chili pepper character. Taste is sweet and belgian yeasty with malts, clay, grass, slight heat, raisin and oranges. Full bodied with an almost cotton candy tackiness, medium carb and dry finish. This is a meh beer to me.
