Pours dark bown to black, big khaki head.
Smell big fruity, almost a bit of a lactic tartness, bit of roast, mostly fruit
Taste spicy cinnamon, astringent, hot, belgian yeast, bit of raisin, off flavors

Best after 12/21/12
Pours dark brown with a rim of light yellow foam. Smells of candy sugar, dark malts, belgian esters, a touch of cinnamon and a little ever so slight chili pepper character. Taste is sweet and belgian yeasty with malts, clay, grass, slight heat, raisin and oranges. Full bodied with an almost cotton candy tackiness, medium carb and dry finish. This is a meh beer to me.

[Thanks to fiulijn]. Bottle. All aroma when opened with notes of caramel and toffee. Very dark brown colour with a beige and quickly diminishing head. Aroma has notes of red fruits, slightly sweet, no cloying, notes of coffee, toffee and caramel. Flavor is slightly sweet at the beginning with aa good maltiness, notes of toffee and caramel with yeasty and spiced hints, also chocolate plumbcake are present.. The final is slightly bittery wit ripe fruits and spices. Dense and creamy on palate with hints of alcohol that is hidden by caramel. Christian (13930) - Odense, DENMARK - NOV 30, 2013

Tap. Pours deep reddish chestnut, small tan head, good lacing. Aroma is yeast, dried dark fruit, malty, molasses. Flavor is very spiced, cinnamon, chili pepper, medium sweet, zesty bitter. Medium body, pretty hot. Too spiced for my tastes. Mortlach (2532) - Rome, ITALY - NOV 22, 2013
22/11/2013 Bir&Fud Bottega (375ml bottle). Bruna, intensa, schiuma color beige- cappuccino, abbastanza persistente. Al naso sentori di toffee, malto, caramello, legno, zucchero di canna, alcol, buona complessità. In bocca è dolce all’attacco, caramello, toffee, quindi vira su un finale leggermente amarognolo. Corpo medio-pieno, carbonazione medio-bassa. Ottima, ma mi aspettavo di più. Scopey (16277) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 10, 2013
Bottle thanks to Leighton. It pours deep brown with a small yellowish-beige head. The nose is earthy, fruity, jam, berry, dried fruits, toasted coconut and caramel. The taste is jammy fruits, berry, sherbet, blueberry, raspberry, candy, warming alcohol, toffee and nut. Medium-full body and fine carbonation. Pretty juicy. Nice jammy character. Good depth and high drinkability for the style. maneliquor (3514) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - NOV 7, 2013
Bottle cheers to Leighton. One of the better Lost Abbey beers I’ve had to date. Full amber pour with a rich, khaki head lasting for the duration leaving great lacing. Nose is full of dried and dark stewed fruits - sultana, date, fig. Massive toffee comes through with hints of vanilla and biscuit. Taste brings out nutty undertones - roasted walnut, fig, date, raisin, dough and toffee. Vanilla hints for sweetness. Great stuff
