375ml bottle. Darkest brown colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, tan head. Somehow cautious and indifferent aroma, hints of chocolate, unspecific dark fruit, spices, cinnamon. Taste is moderately sweet, dark malty, hints of dark fruit, plum, grapes and the like, dark chocolate, chili, cinnamon, some warming alcohol in the finish. Heavy stuff, somehow without emphasis, not really satisfying. Sledutah (7527) - Utah, USA - FEB 24, 2014

AR: chocolate on chocolate
AP: deep dark brown colored body, stouthy steady light brown head
F: fizzy, vinos, plum marmelade, filled chocolate pralinas, warming feeling, quite bitter, took away the desturbing carbonation but then the alcholic is getting to evident. Needs some more storage to calm down for sure! SaintMatty (7365) - Uppsala, SWEDEN - MAR 28, 2013

Pours dark brown, almost black, with a foamy head. Aroma of syrup, malts, dark ripe fruits, spices and hints of roastiness. Taste is carbonated, sweet, and syrupy with notes of dark ripe fruits, spices and caramel. Finish is sweet, carbonated and spicy with some licorice, syrupy and caramely toffee notes. Unbalanced, a bit messy.
Bottle compliments of Brian, pours a deep purplw with medium off white head, nice lacing. 375 ml bottle shared by NobleSquirrel. Thanks, Brian! Pours a richer deep brownish plum hue. Darker, good haze, brownish rich body with just a touch of light on the edges. A frothy brownish head dies to a negligible layer, minimal lacing. Aromas are sweeter, Quad like with lots of dark fruit, brown sugar, kiss of cocoa and dry bakers chocolate. Gentle fruit, caramel and toffee mix with touches of gentle yeast. Peppery spice element doesn’t really take hold for me, kiss of spice and cinnamon. Initial is fuller bodied, cinnamon and brown sugar, touches of cocoa, caramel and toffee. Gentle plum, dried fruit and toffee. Middle is similar, a bit chewy. Gentle spice (but not heat, bakers spice), a bit sweet. This doesn’t really come together, the pepper barely makes an appearance for me. A bit sweet, sticky into the backend with some gentle cinnamon. Meh. I think the base is a lot better. This certainly isn’t a bad beer, but I was just expecting a lot more from the treatment itself.
