Bottle @ Ales Unlimited: If you’re expecting a sour, you’ll be upset. Don’t expect anything really wild either. Expect a nice and soft, farmhouse type of ale. It tasted well-together, but I didn’t get a lot of funk. Alongside the palate, the taste reminded me more of a nice cheese. It’s as if you don’t have to pair it with cheese because it’s already there (in a good way obviously). Anyway, I also want to note that the pour was loud and fizzy. The body was murky yet noticeably lively; it was straw and gold; there was a creamy white head and little lacing was left behind. The flavor and mouthfeel stood out the most to me -- the aroma was there and it was good enough, but there was nothing to note. Regardless, I’ll have mo of it.

Bottle at Eulogy. Yellow amber pour with a big fizzy head. Big brett aroma. Medium sour. Toasted wheat. Honey nut cheerios. Artichoke. Celery hearts. Straw. Band Aid. Bubblegum. Kumquots. Candied sugar. Lemongrass. Funky sour, but still rather tame. Medium palate, but feels nicely full for the style.

Pours clear gold into a snifter. Bright white head with excellent retention recedes to coat surface. Sweet caramel and coriander aromas. Sweet with toasted caramel and hay upfront turning to ever so mild brett in the lasting slightly salty finish.

this one actualyl tasted like a saison with some brett, light brett to it. Very thick and rich malty saison though

12.7 oz bottle. Clear orange brown with white froth. Nose is green banana, pear, hay and lemon yoghurt. Oily medium body with a soft sparkle. Taste is green melon, toffee, green tea, yeast and grass. Could be really nice if it dries out some.

375mL bought back in May 2012. Cellared until December 24th 2012. Trying to coax some Brett infection out of this one. No dice. No Brett presence at all :( Pours a translucent lemonade color into golden with low haze. Smaller, white foam with okay retention and swathes of lacing. Nose is really nice: thick artisanal honey, lemonade, hints of Berliner Weisse lemonade, clean and no funk. Taste is like De Dolle Arabier or Stille Nacht with honey, candi sugar, oil, golden raisins, small caramel, banana dessert. Palate fluffy, dense, oily. Very Belgian in structure and I really like this despite its zero Brett character. I don’t think holding this any longer will develop any funk. Better drink it now and enjoy it for what it is, which is certainly not sour or wild.

Bottle poured a pale lemon meringue with a small white head and notable lacing. Aroma includes lemon zest, floral notes, grass, and slight Brett funk. Taste is refreshing blend of citrus, palatable sour/tart stone fruits, pepper, and hints of Brett. Enjoyable crisp finish with flavors lingering.

Pours to a glowing golden body that becomes murky near the bottom of the bottle. A rapidly dissipating white head sits on top. Aroma of pineapple, straw, and light funk. Flavor is like a muddled orval with straw and pineapple. More yeasts too. When drinking while eating pineapple, the fruitiness drops out and showcases the malt and coriander. Rich medium bodied palate has a robust texture.

From Ølbutikken shared at Ohtsuki. Bottle 6.3% musty, stale hay, like a hay loft with a cross breeze from a fruit orchard. Not getting any of the metallic qualities I usually associate with Brett. The taste is clean, bready with just a hint of sourness on the finish & a touch of lemon. Not that complex but great stuff.
