Lightly spiced with Organic Ginger, Orange Peels, Black Pepper and Grains of Paradise, this brew promises to quench your thirst on the hottest Southern California days or wherever your travels may take you. Editor's note. This is a new incarnation of SPF 45, previously brewed at Pizza Port Solana Beach

Rating #723, bottle from Toft Vin

Apperance is golden, slightly hazy and with a huge foamy head with good duration. Lacings. Aroma is citrus, spruce, apples, pears, hay and other indefineable overripe fruits. A hint of alcohol. Flavor has a lot of yeast and alcohol, hay, a tiny bit citrus and not much more. Maybe a bit of something cookie-like, and you really have to look hard to find the overripe fruits. Quite dissapointing when looking at the score, other ratings and the aroma. Finish is bitter / acrid and quite alcoholic. Warming alcohol burn, but not in a bad way. Soft and creamy palate. I feel this is a bit of waste of money, its not bad, but too expensive compared to what you get. However, its a beer off the list.

Aroma:
Medium/heavy aroma of malts, caramel, Belgian yeast, honey, fruit, Grain, hops, citrus and spices.

Appearance:
Turbid/opaque golden/amber beer with a medium/large off-white head.

Taste/Palate:
Starts medium/heavy sweet with malts, caramel, Belgian yeast, honey and fruit; ends slightly bitter and dry with grain, hops, citrus and spices.

Overall:
This beer is intense, complex and balanced. Had the pleasure to have a 2.5 years old bottle. The appearance is amazing, with an everlasting thick head on top. This prevents the aroma of being super strong though. Great taste and palate too, extremely refreshing and so drinkable.

(En ft OBriens): pices, cdre, acidit moelleuse, minraux et une charge des saveurs puissantes et alourdissante. Plus a avance, plus les pices sagitent. Le American way ne fonctionne pas partout.

Pours a clear-golden in color with a sudsy white head. Flavor has grape notes and that signature saison yeast spice character.

Musty barnyard nose with subtle combination of spices. Pours hazy golden with very thick foam. Touch of sweet malt on the tongue but overall tart and dry. The hops are grassy. The various spices make the taste complex and rewards extended sipping. Comparatively strong alcohol finish. Pittsburgh Beerfest 2016.
