COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Perhaps no country embraces the use of fruit in beers more so than Belgium. Numerous traditional as well as regional specialty ales are infused with every sort of fruit imaginable. In this way, the flavor of the fruit becomes especially prominent. Red Poppy Ale is a veritable celebration of Sour Cherries in an explosion of aromas and tastes. Brewed from a brown ale base and aged in our oak barrels for over 6 months, this beer is not for the faint of heart. The Golden Poppy is the state flower of California and the Red Poppy is found in Flanders Fields where our inspiration for this beer comes from.

backlog z PAKK 2017. Dzikie, dużo taniny z beczki, kwaśne wiśnie, super się komponuje z wędzonym serem i litewską słoniną.

375 mL bottle from Tasty Beverage Co., Raleigh, NC. Rusty brownish-orange pour with a quick off-white head. Aroma of apple cider vinegar, oak, and cherries. Taste is tart, as expected, with notes of lemon, cherry, and currant but with a noticeable element of oak that provides balance and Earthiness. Sour lingers somewhat but less so than other sours I have tried. A nicely done sour.

Dość kwaśne i octowe, ale mimo wszystko w łagodny sposób. Owocowy aromat nadaje delikatności. Wyraziste i przyjemne.

A vinegarish beer, reminds me of Rodenbach Vintage which is a bit more fruity, more oaky (i mean wooden) but less acidic and vinegarish. Cherries add some tartness.

W aromacie główną rolę gra wiśnia. W smaku kwaśna wiśnia z lekką kontrą słodyczy, Dość octowo miodowy aromat. Przyjemne, pijalne.

September 2017 - Keg at The Rake. As 'Lost Abbey Red Poppy Ale'. Dark orange brown, translucent and still with a foamy light brown head. Aroma is cherry, meaty sugars, little papery oak, touch of balsamic. Body is smooth with tingly carbonation. Taste is tart dark cherry, again a little meaty, chocolate covered berries, tart cherry flavoured biscuits. Tasty. (7-4-8-4-15=3.8)
