Pours nearly black with a small tan head. A little bit funky on the nose. Lots of booze and wood notes, maybe a touch of acetone. There’s plenty of roasted malt and a little bit of coffee. The flavor is a bit smoother than the nose would let on. Roasted malt, a touch of chocolate, coffee, and a surprising amount of bourbon/barrel flavor. Draft at the brewery a little while back. Black pour, dark tan head. A little sludgy. Chocolate, heavy bourbon character, vanilla, booze, and thick chocolate syrup. On tap at Battleship. Pours black. Aroma is fo bourbon, oak, some coconut, malts, and some booze. Taste is full bodied. I prefer the the non BB Fermented version. Was able to get a surprise bottle from a friend out west. It is very similar to the normal version with less carbonation and a lot of woodiness. Big thanks to Tony for sharing this gem. Extremely dark color with very little carbonation. Aroma has hints of bourbon, malt, chocolate and fudge. Flavor is a little heavy on the bourbon side but it’s still very pleasant and easy to drink.

Shared by Jason. The beer pours to a black body with a soapy brown head. The aroma is chocolate, creosote, honey suckle, and black malt. Thanks to a very cool dude on BA for the hook-up! Poured deeper brown with nothing going on for head. The aroma picked up baker’s chocolate, plenty of licorice, and some vanilla with black peppery and oaky accents.. fairly soft and well-restrained.. excellent. The flavor found warm licorice more than anything else at the core.. vanilla-laced darker chocolates around.. some molasses on the finish.. lightly tart oak was also a fine complement in there.. some honey in there as well.. more sour and oaky on the finish, carrying through molasses and honey. Bottle, huge thanks to Jason. Very black pour with pretty much no head. Aroma has notes of wood, some booze, roast, dark fruit, some bitter baker’s chocolate, coffee. Taste is a bit thin, low carb but has enough to move through the palate. Some roast, slight coffee, chocolate, slight barrel notes that are a bit odd, very oaky and dry with some booze notes. As it warms, you find a touch of anise, some smoke notes, slight vanilla even. Overall very complex, notes changing as it warms.
