On tap at O’Brien’s, barrel-aged beer night. Appearance is a hazy brown color with orange edges. Not much head, just some lace swirls and microbubbles around the glass edges. Very pleasing aroma of cinnamon, butterscotch and caramel malts with some funky barnyard; along with detectable raisin and light hops. The blend is fantastic in this beer! Each component comes together nicely. Starts off with a hefty malty backbone with orange citrus, cinnamon, raisins and other dark fruits from the Angel’s Share. A softer red wine nose is barely detectable, with a nice tart and bitter finish from the Cuvee brett and cherry influence. Finishes with lots of oak wood and toasted bread notes. Very well balanced sourness makes this one really enjoyable. An intriguing one to be savored. Hot damn Tomme! padrefan98 (854) - (San Diego) Santee, California, USA - JAN 16, 2008
