COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Veritas-From the Latin meaning TRUTH. An original set of blended ales created in small batches by our brewers. We chose the word Veritas as in, the "Truth" be told, we have no idea what these beers will become. Each release of Veritas promise to afford us an opportunity to create new blends of beers. There are no time tables, specific release dates or market conditions driving the Veritas series. When the next batch is ready, we will tell you. Look for these incredibly small case releases to be a part of our Lost Abbey promotions, beer dinners, and educational experiences. In this way, we can all share in the Truth of what beer is, might be and even become.

Shared by MattSciGuy, thanks Levi! Murky rust colored bottle. Strong sour cherry aroma--very acetic. Very sour taste, cherry, some oak, plenty of full on tartness. Full mouthfeel with great carbonation. Full flavor with just enough oak to keep it manageable. Very tasty.

750ml bottle. Crushed raspberries and boatloads of acetic acid on the nose. A bit of dish soap and acetic acid as well. Some fusels and wet wood tannin as well. Bottom of the bottle pour is murky red/orange with lots of chunks topped by a bright pinkish/white head. Holy shit ! This is sour as hell! Delicious, funky with assloads of acetic acid. Wow. Raspberry seeds up front, tart razz pulp mid palate and the acid shreds the throat on the finish. The acetic tones down a bit as the beer warms... just a bit. Some mild wood tannin on the back sides of the tongue attempt to bring some balance here... Creamy on the tongue. Lively carbonation with an insanely sharp, sour finish. Not overly complex, but damn tasty. Thanks Levi!

Bottle so very generously shared by OldStyleCubsFan. Todd, you rule, buddy. Pinkish orange hazy pour came out of the gush. Still a bit of head after the action. Nose was fruity--watermelon, cherry, strawberry and alluring tartness. Damn, is that cantaloupe? Some nice funk as well so its not just a tart fruit bomb. Wow, this is epic. Among the best Ive had, period.

Massive beer karma to OSCF for popping this one - we bow to you, Todd! It presented with a huge, gushing, pinkish body, both bright and cloudy somehow. Vibrant in color and attitude, so it seemed. The nose was lovely, with tart fruits in the nose - some raspberry, maybe some cherries from CdeT, a bit of honeydew as well, but all merging into the oak background. Horsey and acetic too, so complex. The taste was incredibly rich in depth, with a lingering sourness that contained hints of wood and fruit, even flirting with dank cheese in flashes. Lively like champagne, mellowed like the finest aged lambic, as complex and intense as you could hope. This blew us all away.

Bottle shared by Oldstylecubfan (he even opened the 007 next to it!). Thanks man. unsure of the blend on this one. Poured a bright, full, murky pink/rosy that was just beautiful. Could pick out some acetic characteristics like Duck Duck Gooze and earthy Cuvee de tomme notes. Taste and aroma of watermelon. Super sour especially on the palate even minutes after the last taste. Excellent nose, excellent taste, and overall the best and most enjoyable sour Ive had. Just incredible.

Veritas 006, rating number 3700 thanks to blutt59. A geyser of a gusher (yes, I said it). Pours a murky guava red with minimal head laying atop. Aroma is intense, screaming: RASPBERRY, ACIDIC, FUNK!! Some white pepper and vanilla as well. The taste is really quite punishingly sour, berries (raspberries mainly). Magnificently, heartburn sour. What the hell is the pH on this stuff? Bone dry finish, my words do not accurately describe how good and complex this stuff is!

Bottle shared by Todd. Thanks buddy. Pours a rosey peach with small white lacing. Nose of sour cherry, oak, vanilla, leather, soil. Flavor continues with the sour red fruit theme and is held together and balanced pretty nicely.

(750ml bottle thanks to blutt59) murky red with a ring of white bubbles and a head that faded quickly. Nose of fresh raspberry, so tart it tickles the nose, white pepper and lightly floral. Taste is very tart raspberries, strawberries, nearly astringent, wet wood, and smarties candy. Very very tart finish that burns the throat on the way down. Nice!

UPDATED: MAY 29, 2010 Bottle thanks to Blutt59. Pours a murky red grapefruit color with white fizzy head. Aroma of sour raspberry, very tart, acidic, faint wood, white pepper, brett and funky! Flavor is very much the same but, "HOLY HELL" it is sour! Actually burned my throat and tummy with the acidity, the sour lingered for a bit as well just to taunt me. Mouth feel is light-medium body with fizzy carbonation. Overall, My new fav!
