This is a smooth, great tasting stout beer.
Great body, Awesome initial flavor..with a perfect finish and just enough carbonation.
Seriously one of the best stouts Iíve had in a long time. KnowThyBeer (26) - Wilmington, North Carolina, USA - DEC 15, 2013
Aroma - Cool scents from the high carbonation. Soft notes of malts. The aroma here shows off the under currant of flavor weíll find once we taste the beer.
Appearance - A dark, dark brown color. Not a huge head, but dissipates a few sips in.
Taste - Gorgeous. Roasted malts, dark chocolates, medium roasted coffee beans, and dark caramels. The carbonation element is still present throughout the whole tasting.
Palate - Very balanced. Nothing is going to stand out from the others. I appreciate beers which arenít very heavy handed with one kind of flavor.
Overall- An amazing stout with high flavors and with a low stout delivery due to the carbonation. Amazing beer. Markox89 (1) - ITALY - JAN 13, 2014 does not count

This is a bold stout with a rich creamy head. What a mouth full. This would be good over ice cream. Well balanced. Not too dry or too sweet. Perfect for a cold rainy nght in front of the fire place. fnah93 (1) - USA - MAY 31, 2005 does not count
Iíve never tasted anything quite like this. As near perfect as anyting Iíve tasted. Strong coffee malts, creamy-smooth perfection.

One of the very best of the West Coast stouts. Incomparable! (This website attempted to force me to use more words to describe this beer, but why bother? Every other review describes it.) maxwelldeux (4374) - Snohomish, Washington, USA - JUN 15, 2012
One of the best beers Iíve ever had. Damn. If Jesus himself created a beer from the champagne of the angels, it would be this one. blackmurder (236) - Whitaker, Oregon, USA - JUL 18, 2006
My favorite stout of all time. A reliable beer that never disappoints. Pours dark black with a thin head that is typical of a stout. Robust aroma of coffee, vanilla, toffee, and roasted malts. The taste is what does it for me though. It is just so smooth and almost sweet with a complex flavor for an oatmeal stout. Brown sugar, vanilla, coffee, and chocolate. A great stout and my all time most purchased beer. davidm (2080) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - DEC 29, 2015
Great beer. Aromas of chocolate and vanilla. Full mouthfeel. Some hoppiness would make it perfect. loweredsixth (946) - Clovis, California, USA - JUL 1, 2002
UPDATED: JAN 1, 2004 First of all, this beer pours out of the bottle black black black...and thick. Nice light brown head...medium carbonation. At first, the aroma is filled with some wonderful smokey roasted tones. As it warmed, the aroma lost most of it's smokiness and took on more of a sweet chocolate character. The flavor changed much like the aroma did...from smokey and roasted to sweet chocolate. Slight bitterness in the finish, but none elsewhere in the flavor. This is a well-crafted stout with many complexities that unfold throughout the drinking experience. I enjoy taking my time drinking this beer to appreciate all it has to offer.
