A great, if unusual, porter. Pours a relatively clear red-black color with little head. Much lighter then most porters. Smells like coffee. Taste is great, like French vanilla, very creamy and not much of a bitter finish like many porters. Almost like a black lager. Had on tap at the brewery.

On tap at Capitol Beer, Sacramento. Pours dark brown with an attractive tan head and a treacle aroma. There is a chocolate and dark molasses flavor that is dry like a Baltic should be, along with some black licorice. Very tasty. bhensonb (15760) - Woodland, California, USA - FEB 25, 2013
Tap at Capitol beer. Pours fairly dark brown with a creamy light tan head. Aroma is mildly coffee. Med body. Flavor has smooth dark malt and chocolate. Not getting coffee. Seems more of a standard porter than a baltic. Finishes lightly sweet chocolate.
