UPDATED: JAN 13, 2015 12 oz. bottle at BevMo. Nose of yeast and toast. Dark brown body with a pillowy head. Nutty, roasty and smooth with a creamy malt base. No bitterness. Thin body keeps it on the lighter side. Lightly carbonated. Nothing extraordinary but this is a satisfying and very drinkable brown ale. Gandalf39 (157) - - MAR 1, 2015
Le type de brune qui peut se boire sans problème par pinte entière. Une odeur de confiture de fraise avec un touche de chocolat, c’est un désert liquide qui se boit comme du petit lait! Likeburning (149) - Franklin, Tennessee, USA - DEC 8, 2005
Deep red almost black color. A medium bold aroma with malty hints. Palate and flavor isn’t as full as the color and aroma would suggest, but all in all a decent brown ale. frankR (148) - Livermore, California, USA - APR 16, 2004
Pours dark and thick, light tan head. Nose is light apples and spicy hops. Flavor is cinnamon, apples and faint toast. Finish is very porter-ish, yet spicy and alcohol warm. Palate is a bit watery and flavors could be more intense to qualify this as a great porter. Not sure how you can call this a brown ale, maybe a light porter? Overall very good for what it is. From a 22 oz. bottle purchased locally. Aroma is malty with a slight hint of roast. Color is brown with some red highlights. Small tan head that fades quickly. Brilliantly clear. Flavor is toasty with hop bitterness. Malt comes through with a little roast in the back end. Fairly dry with a medium body and very balanced.

Dark brown. Nut-chocolate aroma. Smooth malts, flibet nuts, and somewhat sweet and sour. Does have a slight hop finish. Good body throughout. Eckato (147) - Gulfport, Florida, USA - JAN 30, 2013
Pours gorgeous dark, dark, dark brown. Head disappears quickly...nice toasty flavor, however an unexpected after taste. Good Brown Ale. Tubbfan (147) - Joliet, Illinois, USA - JAN 24, 2006
Pours cola colored with almost no head or lacing. Aroma is there, but you have to go hunting for it. Flavor is weak, sweet, nutty with an aftertaste of malt. Body is thin like cola too. A little fizzy like. . . well, you know. Maybe this brewer ought to brew beer instead of make cola. Braincage1 (147) - Cary, North Carolina, USA - AUG 28, 2007
Bottle. Brown color and a thin head. Aroma is sweet - caramel. Flavor also sweet but with an acidic tang. They have a good balance going. cigarsnbeer (146) - Valley City, North Dakota, USA - JUN 16, 2004
Wow, was I surprised by this beer! By no means is this the greatest brown ale in the world, but it ain’t bad at all. A great balance of malt and hops. I would try this beer again.
