Blind tasted with 4 other Triple IPAs IPAs were: 1. Maui Brewing Double Overhead IPA 2. Sierra Nevada Hoptimum 2017 3. Miskatonic Epilogue 4. Lost Coast Fogcutter Double IPA 5. 2SP Bellcracker. Rater 1 rated the beers: 14 35 TIE 2 Rater 2 (Me) rated the beers 41325.

Amber gold pour, oxidized caramel herb aroma. Falvor is old-school, sweet, resinous, piney. Booze.

Post tasting thoughts:
I did not expect this to win in the blind. It is old school but it is well done and drinkable for its high gravity.

650 ml bottle from Canada Craft Club. Pours a murky orange colour with moderate-sized white head. Aroma is caramel, citrus and earthiness with some pine. Flavour has lots of caramel maltiness with a little fruitiness, citric and piney hops and gentle earthy character. Fine carbonation. Nice.

Bouteille 650ml.

Shag (2987) - Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA - MAY 21, 2017
Golden color with a white head. Aroma contains some lemon, orange, grapefruit, and pine. The flavor is well balanced with some citrus and mild caramel notes. Very mild for an impy IPA but still good.

650ml brown bottle. Orange colour, hazy. Clingy white cap with appealling lacing. Nose is pretty malty - a lot of caranel, citrus is in the background. Taste - sweet caramel malt, citrus, dank, resin and pine. Bitterness cuts through the sweet malts, hops leave earthy, dank and piney notes. Medium body. Enjoyable.

nearbeer (5369) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - APR 30, 2017
12 oz. bottled 03/01/2017. Big nose of pineapple bread, orange flesh, honey, pollen and a bit of evergreen resin. Lightly foggy, orange-amber look with a lasting quarter-inch of cream on top. Front flavors of orange creamsicle (what Mantra’s Citreamsicle should have been I’m thinking) turn to pineapple, caramel and citrus zest. Finishes with garlic, pine resin and a touch of white pepper in the lingering aftertaste. Medium bodied and soft with smooth medium carbonation. Big hop finish tamps down the large malt front well enough for a dangerously drinkable dry-slanted balance. No sign of the abv until you stand up.
