Medium brown, good head, clear. Aroma of grapefruit. Flavor also highlighted grapefruit from the Cascades, with a bit of spruce. There was also an undefined bit of funk in there that kept it interesting. Good. hotstuff (5158) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - OCT 13, 2003
Another APA that was way too hoppy for this beer drinker. It poured a small sized white creamy head that contained fine sized bubbles that completely dissipated. The body was clear with carbonation and the hue was gold. The nose was malty, hoppy, sweet with a bitter, hoppy taste to it that had a fore and aftertaste. The mouthfeel was tingly and medium bodied with a fair amount of lacing. thedm (6183) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - SEP 26, 2003
This brew poured a large head of fine to large sized white colored mostly lasting bubbles that left behind a fair lacing and a transparent straw yellow colored softly carbonated body. The aroma is very hoppy and the mouthfeel is initially hopped but not overly hopped in the finish. The flavor is all hops and nothing but hops. Still, not as hopped as an IPA. Yellow-orange with an impressive head. Vaguely hoppy nose. The flavor is hoppy, but with a unique musty character. Maybe some sour grape aftertaste. Not bad at all. whaleman (2178) - North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 4, 2003
Gold color and slightly hazy with a few floating particles. The head mostly diminished. Floral hop aroma and a hint of butter rum. A well-balanced APA with moderate hop bitterness. A difficult and inferior encore to the Indica.

Light amber hue with small head but good lacing, thin to medium-bodied. Pronounced piney hop aroma with undertones of butterscotch and french toast. Taste is more subdued than expected however the finish is aggressively hoppy. A bit too one-diminsional IMO. Not enough malt characteristics. Watery and fizzy mouthfeel, metallic feel. Ho Hum beer. redlem (1306) - Ohio, USA - JUL 4, 2003
Medium amber with a medium lasting creamy white head. Mild pacific hops aroma, light pine. I thought this was quite watery in taste with a thin body. Aftertaste is bitter hops. Average. Racegoer (354) - Indiana, Indiana, USA - JUN 29, 2003
Hazy straw colored smell reminds me somewhat of a wheat beer. Thin lemon flavour as well as an unwelcome aftertaste much like an inferor wheat that I never like. Lost Coast lost the focus while making this Ale, thin palate unbalanced flavours and in my opinion a insult to the APA style, Not Recommended. beerguy101 (5360) - Newark, California, USA - JUN 24, 2003
Gold/copper color. Small head. Aroma is fruity (apricots and peaches) and a touch spicy. A medium bodied Pale Ale. Malts are mild, nutty and a touch sweet. Hops are slightly spicy and grapefruity. A milder flavored pale ale, more in the English style than the over-the-top West Coast style. Very smooth taste. It’s a very drinkable pale ale. Light and refreshing. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter. Wrath (362) - Valparaiso, Indiana, USA - JUN 2, 2003
Golden in color. Thin head that last. Orange and lemon are the taste.Hoppy at the end but sweet smooth finish. Good apa!
