Kulminator, Antwerp 2005 - Vintage 1984 - thanks Magic_Dave for letting me taste it. Woody, balsamico nose with some smoke detected. Sour, also quite nutty, some mold and cobbwebbs. Dry finish. Quite nice. jerohen (2335) - Bussum, NETHERLANDS - OCT 21, 2005
Bottled in 1984, sampled in 2005. Like magic dave said, the beer really tasted like a Flemish Sour Ale. So of course sour, but also quite malty with some wood in the finish. Very nice after all those years. DonMagi (5593) - bantervile, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - OCT 18, 2005
No#48. (1984). This bottle was in terrible shape, i had serious doubts that it was still good, how wrong i was. Aroma is sour, with a decent amount of malt kicking about, nice agedness. Taste is Oh soo good, its turned to a flemish sour ale by this time, the sour malt is juicey with good dusty wood characters making it amazing. Dry finish finishes this off excellently. A very unexpected winner of a beer. This was my favourate beer of the whole trip, and hope dirk doesnt run out before i come back for more. A hazy dark red beer with an orange-brown head. The aroma is yeasty combined with notes of alcohol and caramel. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel, giving it a sticky mouthfeel. Engelsmann (651) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - SEP 14, 2005

(Bottle 33 cl) Dark brown, very hazy with a fairly decent head. Spicy, dry tar-like mouthfeel - with some late sweetness. Dried fruits and a hint of bitter chocolate. no hop-bitterness though Excellent indeed. 161297 aspidites (1272) - manteca, California, USA - APR 22, 2005
Basic brune of little depth. Mildly sweet and grainy flavors. Caramel and mild toffee. Thin grainy mouthfeel and a boring sweet finish. marcus (10475) - Sacramento, California, USA - FEB 15, 2005
Consumed at Kulminator Cafe in Antwerp, 1984 bottle. This brown ale poured with a tiny white head that dissipated immediately. There is a sharp acidic aroma that matches the sour brown flavor. This beer has aged much better than would be expected of a brown ale.
