4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Not as bitter or heavy as a stout or porter, but a lovely burnt finish and surprisingly light and tasty.
Piwo o barwie ciemnobrazowej i niezlej bezowej pianie. W zapachu charakterystyczne nuty kawowo- czekoladowe z podbudowa slodowa. Smak niestety slaby, byc moze dlatego ze piwo podane w temperaturze bardzo niskiej a brak czasu zeby sprawdzic w wyzszej. IvanParenti (14) - ITALY - JAN 11, 2015
Draught at the brewery, badly served, too fizzy and too cold.
This influenced my perceptions and rating.
Aroma: chocolate, toast, caramel
Appearance: brown/black color, quite clear
Taste: Medium sweetness, then bitter for malts and hops, light sourness
Palate: Medium body bp (922) - New York, New York, USA - DEC 31, 2013
Draft at the brewpub: black with a thin tan head, smokey and malty flavor, a touch of some coffee as well. Arve_Christian (5144) - Oslo, NORWAY - SEP 21, 2012
Backlog Asia 2009, on tap at the brewery.
Dark color, good foam.
Medium body & complexity.
Very Enjoyable, at least in this region

The best beer from Louisiane Brewhouse. It is not a fantastic beer, but given that you have been travelling around SE Asia and drinking lager-close-to-water, this is a really good beer. solidfunk (8964) - Washington D.C., Washington DC, USA - AUG 6, 2011
A great dark beer with a full hoppy mouthful. Taste of bitterness, smoked roast and barley. Drank on tap in Louisiane Brewhouse Ober (2812) - Bommelerwaard, NETHERLANDS - JAN 27, 2011
A clear dark brown colored beer, with a beige head. The aroma of roasted malts notes of coffee and chocolate. The taste is gentle bitter, a bit dry, rosted malts with chocolate notes. The aftertaste of bitter hints of sweet. Oakes (17676) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 28, 2009
Dark brown with golden-brown accents. Chocolatey aroma with light toast is almost porterish. Rich chocolatey character is soft, sweet and smooth. Nice light acidic bit at the end makes this very moreish. Might be Vietnam’s best brew. Beershine (5224) - VANCOUVER, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 26, 2009
UPDATED: NOV 27, 2009 Draft @ brewpub. Highlight of the Louisiane portfolio. Opaque dark brown, glowing mahogany with thick tan head. Clean, chocolate aroma has cola, asphalt, more chocolate, coffee, and wood. Clean, easy-going and mild carbonation. High drinkability. flavors beat the aromas with lots of mocha cake but dry, not sweet. Coal, nicely roasted coffee. Toasty and tasty. Pint after pint it gets better and better. Quaffable dry dunkel with excellent chocolate flavors. Revisiting proves this a winner.
