An interesting one to say the least. Swampy pour, no head. Wheres the carbonation. Not flat but not really carbonated either. Aromas are a little sticky but mostly offputting and herbal from the hops. A slight cheesey edge from the ale yeast. Flavors are a wreck. Pruney sweetness and a harsh bitter attack afterwards. Tap. Carmellish looking. Thick barleywine taste with slight amounts of citrus. Decent. Andrew196 (1940) - Katy, Texas, USA - MAY 16, 2004
"Mysterious"? There was not much mystery to this beer IMO, sweet roasty hops, kinda thin on the tongue with a slightly slimey mouthfeel. I had this at the Texas Craft Brewers festival with Chad and Joe. Joe was slutting ratebeer.com at a booth as Chad and I sat back and enjoyed our beer nearby. Then, Fly showed up and we made fun of him.
