On tap @ Moeder Lambic Fontainas (Bruxelles). Hazy purple/red with a medium fully lasting off-white/pinkish head and some lacing. Aroma is dominated by grapes along some winey notes, red fruits, nice sourness and wooden notes. Taste is a little less interesting than the nose because there’s a tad too much of a tannic presence... but there’s also the same good things as the aroma: juicy grapes, grape skin, red wine, red fruits, wood and light vanilla. Moderate sourness. Medium body. Medium carbonation. Dry/tannic finish. Winey. Grape forward. Tasty. With some minor adjustments to the taste, it could be a great beer. crossovert (14128) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JAN 25, 2014
This beer pours a really nice purpleish red color. Sour and funk, acidic, some wine and vinous character. Last tick for at least a week, goin on a much needed liver detox. KyotoLefty (10808) - Kyoto, JAPAN - JAN 24, 2014
Beautiful red-purple, flat. Nose of wine grapes, cherry, funk. A bit think and oily, silky. flavor is interesting and somewhat disappointing after the nose, metallic, minerally, woody, light sourness and somewhat stinky. Interesting. the nose is very nice. 2011 bottle. Pours red with some tepid carbonation. Smells of oak, some residual sugar, lightly acetic sour. Tastes tarte with some grape skin hints on the finish. Okay. Not worth the money.

Small 2012 bottle. Reddish brown with a head that fizzes away to nothing straight away. Aroma of cherries, grapes, wood, almonds. Fairly light-bodied, low carbonation - a little kefir-like in texture. Tart and woody, lots of grapes. Quite sour, hints of vinegar. Interesting and good. hopusfocus90 (9) - - DEC 14, 2013 does not count

Black grapes turn to cranberries, as flowers dissolve into pepper in this complex but somewhat aqueous Sour Ale.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-There is no head atop the cloudy pale red.
-The flavor profile is quite delicate, which was surprising (increasing drinkability).
-The big, prickly bubbles and wooden dryness combine for an elegant mouthfeel.
-There were some strange lacto whiffs at the beginning (almost butyric), but they were quickly forgotten.
Pours a one finger white head that vanishes immediately and leaves no lace. Brown/red murky color. Fizzy carbonation and medium bodied. Sour grape nose and flavor is sour grape with hints of sweetness, almost a wine. Can we call this a beer if there is no yeast in it?? There are numerous sour ales that are far cheaper, not worth trying at $19.99 for a 375ml bottle from Julio’s Liquors Marlboro, MA. Brewed 2010. floydian1 (1519) - FNQ, Australia, - NOV 10, 2013
Heavy-based 37.5cl bottle (2012 vintage). Pours murky reddish-brown with champagne-white head that dissipates quickly to nothing. Aroma is vinous with red grapes, vinegar, oak and perhaps a hint of cherries. Palate is flat and vinous with sour flavours and and a tart dry finish. Quite light bodied for the ABV.
