"Lutilizzo, unico nel suo genere, di susine damaschine rende questa straordinaria birra ricchissima di calde e sensuali note fruttate che sanno contrastare le nette, seppur mai troppo aggressive, punte di acidulo e di citrico. Sorprende, nel palato, un equilibrio notevole, inusuale per birre con un PH cos basso, equilibrio assicurato da una notevole pienezza e da un fruttato cos imponente da farsi ricordare a lungo." - Lorenzo Dabove in arte Kuaska

Draft. Strong apple cider, light musty barnyard, berry, and caramel malt aroma. Hazy brown with small head. Sweet-tart apple juice, light caramel malt, mild sour barnyard, and mildly bitter dry hay flavor. Body okay. Nice mix of fruit and funk.

On tap at CBC 2014. Bitter and sour with a light sweetness. Hoppy aromas of citrus fruits. Also notes of alcohol. Full bodied. Soft carbonation. Bitter finish. Worst rating ever, sorry.

Draught at Row 34, 5/30/16.
First pour had a decent head on it, off-white, though probably not terribly well-retained, though the bartender then took it away and poured more beer in it up to the top of the glass leaving no room for the head explaining that "since it was a $14 beer I oughta get my moneys worth". Anyhow, the body was a cloudy olive-tinged mahogany with deep violet tints.
Big, rounded oak notes combine with light acetic notes and even toffee-like maltiness to give a well-rounded nose. Tending lightly acidic. Lots of grape/prune vinousness, plentiful cellar notes (musty, strong minerals) and a fair amount of malt lingering. No alcohol or flaw.
Caramel-toffee again in the flavor is surprising. It helps balance the acetic and lightly lactic acidity and adds quite a bit of body. Plums, prunes and various vinous notes all add complexity and the carbonation is fairly engaging, yet quite low with a malty and at times oily texture. Raisins, figs, toffee and acetic acid lingering with light wood and vanilla. Very unusual and unique sour ale.

On tap @ Lambiczoon, Milano - IT. Color: copper amber beer with no carbonation and no foam. Smell: woody notes with intensive sourness. Rotten fruits notes. Sweet presence and acidity finish. The bouquet is really amazing and really floral. Taste: medium body with rotten fruits as apricot and grapes. Very interesting complicity. Oak barrel notes. Woody finish. Good attenuation and superb lengthwise. Very intensive. Aftertaste: woody and astringent sourness. Fruity as well. Superb beer! Good job!

On tap at TCBW 2016. Dark orange liquid. Thin round of white froth. Slight sweetness, berries, vinegar. Wild yeast has done job here. Tangerines, grapes and sourness at first. Hints of wood and leathery notes in the middle. Hints of orange in the end. Did not detect plums in the aroma, nor in the tsste, but otherwise good wild sour ale.
