Lovibonds 69 IPA is not a boring, middle of the road IPA. We’re not quite sure how British IPAs have evolved into such low gravity pints of hop-lessness. 69 IPA is part of a new generation of IPAs, one that fuses the great history of IPA with modern hops and techniques. You may not be aware, but craft brewers in the States are now producing some of the most remarkable, flavoursome and diverse beers in the world. IPA is a style that they have embraced with vigour and 69 IPA is a nod to our brothers and sisters across the pond, who serve as a guide and inspiration for this beer. At 6.9% avb, our IPA has the strength of an original IPA, but is infused with the modern aromas and flavours of the USA’s finest Centennial and Columbus hops. Lovibonds is the first in the UK to employ a new dry hopping device called a ’Hopinator’. This technique is key to giving 69 IPA its awesome aroma and flavour.

Very memorable beer. A little on the malty side, but exceedingly well balanced with good hop notes. One of the best beers I’ve had in a long time. Well worth hunting out.

Citrus fruits, lemon and grapefruit, light tropical fruits, melon, peach. Hazy gold, medium, creamy, white head. Medium bitter. Bitterness intensifies, citrus fruits again, bitter orange, intense hops in the finish. Decent IPA, quite citrusy in aroma and bitter in plate. Keg at the brewery, Henley-on-Thames.

hohops (983) - Kent, ENGLAND - JUN 12, 2016
Appearance- slightly murky amber, half a finger off-white head which persists nicely. Aroma- creamy, bready malt, hops, grapefruit, tangerine, marmalade, sugary sultana. Taste- bitter hops, pineapple and grapefruit juice, juicy fruit, solid malt undertones, dry bitter finish, tinges of caramel and chocolate orange. Nice IPA.

ThirstyBird (2914) - Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - MAR 13, 2016
Fresh bottle purchased at the Brewery Shop in BErkhamsted. Pours a deep golden color with an off-white head. The smell is toasted malt, citrus, hint of resin. The taste is crisp, dry and bitter up front. Secondarily the flavors come in with malt sweetness, citrus and some resign with a dry ending. Light+ in body with average carbonation. A nice, solid beer.

Keg at the Lovibonds tap takeover Brewdog Camden. Clear golden / orange coloured pour with a sticky white head. Aroma is caramel malts, hot alcohol, lemon earthy hop, candied hop, hop leaf. Flavour is caramel hop candy, earthy lemon, little solvent, hop leaf. Firm assertive hop bitterness with a little metallic. Palate is semi sweet, airy carbonation. Lingering firm earthy hop.

330ml bottle. Clear, orangey dark golden to amber colour with average to huge, thick, firm, foamy, fairly lasting, decently lacing, off-white head. Resinous, piney and herbal hoppy aroma, sweet-ish caramel malty basis, hints of lime and lemongrass, even a ginger touch. Taste is dry, piney hoppy, slightly floral and perfumed, sweet-ish caramel malty basis, hints of lime and lemongrass scratching on the edge to soapy. Very harmonious composition, nice surprise. Excellent Thai food paring. Praise the Hopinator!

Bottle 330ml (ABM)I
Hazy amber color, decent white head, some lace. Pineapple and pine in the nose. Also some funky notes. Medium-bodied. Hop oily, piney and pineapple fruity flavor with long bitterness. 3 months old bottle so probably sharper when really fresh but even now shows its potential. Well-brewed modern ipa.

33oml bottle from the grumpy goat, Reading. Excellent IPA, thoroughly recommend this to any hop head. This carries through all the great characteristics of a west coast IPA which the beer openly emulates. Flavours of grapefruit and peach

lusikka (7813) - Tampere, FINLAND - OCT 8, 2014
330 ml bottle. Pours a hazy orange copper colour with a large white head. Aroma of rich citrusy hops, floral notes and herbs. Flavour of floral hops, grapefruit, mango, herbs, mild biscuity notes and orange pith. Medium bodied and soft carbonation. Juicy, dry, bitter finish. Nice and balanced.

33 cl bottle. Batch #445. Bottled on 31.07.2014. BBE 02/2015.
Pours hazy golden color with a large frothy head. Lots of sweet tropical fruits on the nose, gummy bears, juicy orange and nice floral hops. Orange and grapefruits on the flavor, faint lemon, slightly resinous hops, lingering grassy and gooseberry dominated aftertaste. Very refreshing and tasty, leans on the sweet side but the citric fruits cut in nicely, nice hop profile also.
