Tap at BD Shepherds Bush. Nothing out of the ordinary. Very woody and pine driven with a hint of bubblegum. Decent stuff teorn88 (7682) - Rimini, ITALY - JAN 2, 2014
Keg at BD Shep Bush. It pours brown with amber edges. Medium beige head that sticks around for a while. Aroma is spot on with woody notes along citrus, lime, pine needles, roasted malts. Taste is similarly balanced between roasted notes and hops. More wood, roasted malts, grassy piney hops and long bitter finish. Medium bodied with lively carbonation. A textbook example of the style. Good. ladnewton (1964) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 17, 2013
On tap at BrewDog Camden, London on 13th October 2013. Black with off-white, fully lacing foam. Inviting aroma with plenty of roastiness. Sweet-sour, porter-like in-mouth, blending caramel and grapefruit. Finish is citric, but with roasty notes. Zingy mouthfeel and medium body. Camons (12450) - Hasselager, DENMARK - SEP 16, 2013
Draught @ The Gun IPA Festival, London. Pours hazy dark brown with a offwhite head. Aroma of roasted malt, fruity hops, grapes, grapefruit. Flalvor is malt, fruity hops, grass, grapefruit. Thin to medium body, soft carbonation, bitter finish. 150913 allmyvinyl (10634) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JUN 24, 2013
Keg at the Bat. Nice change after some fairly bog-standard pale ales elsewhere. Dark brown more than black, but good citrus hop notes balancing the roastiness. Some chocolate in the mix, and a grapefruit note. Creamy, good carbonation, long finish. Really nice.

Pours, unsurprisingly, dirty brown colour with with off white head. No sign of carbonation. Pleasant aroma. Medium bodied. Big tonic grapefruit taste at first with lemon and malt following through with big bitterness. Good.

Decent black IPA. jamestulloch (4117) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JAN 17, 2013
Aroma: Rasin, plum, burnt toast, bitter dark chocolate and vanilla.
Appearance: Black body with a thick tan head. Excellent lacing.
Taste: Powerful flavours - rich stone fruits, dark chocolate and a strong, ’burnt’ bitterness. No hint of its 6.9% ABV. Lovely.
Palate: Medium to full body with a sticky, syrup-like texture. Soft carbonation.
Overall: A tasty Black IPA - very hoppy and flavoursome. Distinct burnt characteristics.
