Henley has long been known for the best pint of Ordinary. This 3.4% session ale is no exception. We use Maris Otter as a base malt with a special blend of roasted malts to give this bitter a complex malt profile.
Generous additions of 3 English hop varieties give this ale exceptional hop character.
Tasting notes: The amber coloured ale has a good balance of juicy malt and hop character on the nose. The flavour finishes with a balance of bitterness from roasted barley, leading to a long clean bitterness of English hops. Finishes dry.
Suggested food pairing: Excellent beer paired with roasted or grilled meats - chicken, pork or beef. Will also pair well with grilled vegetables.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a lazing light tan head. The aroma has notes of fruti and malt as well as a light touch of spicy hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, fruit, elderberries, and hops, leading to a bitter finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy, honey-amber with a creamy, white head. Light caramel aroma with some citrus tartness. Flavor has some light sweetness, but there is a fairly strong bitterness that overpowers the flavor profile. Earthy bitterness with some grapefruit. There are touches toasted malts as well. Light to medium in body with average carbonation. Finishes with lingering hops. Unfortunately I think this beer is slightly out of code, but it is still decent.

Bottle at home, from Tourist Town’s Waitrose, 12/04/15. Hazed golden amber with a decent light beige covering. Nose is bitter fruit, light floral, bready malt, toffee apple. Taste comprises caramel, light candied fruits, hint of brown sugar, mellow fruit. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Inoffensive easy drinking amber affair, nothing I’d look to revisit but nothing wring with it.

harrisoni (18578) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - APR 30, 2006
Cask gravity at Reading BF 06. Golden/orange beer with no head. Slightly sticky aroma, bit of ginger. Some resiny hops and a bit of orange fruit
