Bottle from Hopfen & Malz - slightly hazy golden color, white head. strongly bitter hopped, floral, some dough, grainy body. crisp and refreshing, great.

On draught at the Löwenbräu Buttenheim keller on Kellerwald near Forchheim. I am guessing the appearance as it was in a stonware krug. A deeply satisfying beer for 11.30 in the morning. Grainy, balanced and welcoming. Not sure it would be robust enough to be bottled and carted up the E-something to the Netherlands.

Bottle at wildeman , notes of bread, toast, malt, hops, and grain. Brownish golden. Not bad

Many thanks for this beer to kevnic2008. W aromacie kora sosnowa, las i runo lesne. Zupelnie inny lager ale przyjemnie wytrawny, zero slodyczy i minimalnie slodowe.

Aus der Flasche getrunken (Landbierparadies Nürnberg). Klares Altgold im Glas mit stabilem Schaum. Starke Hopfung dominiert, aber nicht zu herb geworden.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Tom’s place. Thanks Clear gold. A little butter, toffee and a little bread aroma, sweet, malty taste with hints of herbal bitterness. Light body, soft carbonation, bitter finish with some minerals.

Bottle sample, thanks DSG. Clear yellow golden. Aroma of grains and honey. Sweet, grainy, yeasty, a bit vegetal with mild bitterness. Medium-bodied.

Bottle shared at a tasting at Tom L’s place. Golden. Aroma of malt, graininess, lager yeast, honey hint, bread. Flavor has a bit of sweetish grainy and bready malt, and nice bitterish grassy hops. Light to medium-bodied. Decent, probably even better when fresh.

Just found this rating from the time I had this beer out of a gravity keg back in October of 2012...
Pours a very hazy deep golden color with a medium sized head and nice lacing on the glass.

The aroma is grassy, actually more grassy than herbal but yes... herbal none-the-less. It’s got a bit of fruity maltiness and the beer is lightly sweet smelling.

The flavor is much like the aroma, crisp and the grassy herbal thing is flipped around. It’s got a lightly spicy horehound like flavor a very nice level of bitterness with some light minerallity. Clean, lightly sweet, and delicious.

The palate is creamy and full, not especially bubbly but not heavy at all.

A pleasure.

Man, I suppose I really liked this stuff.
