Now here we have a sleeper. To my surprise, this beer had a refreshing chocolatey flavor and a smooth aftertaste. An all around pleasant experience, and not real expensive, either. I agree with the other people, it is a damn good barbecue beer. BeerNazi (169) - winnetka, California, USA - SEP 20, 2001
ok beer,no need to make anything special of it. 21iceman40 (1735) - Grafton, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 2, 2001
A really good beer with a solid robust taste. Delbomber (387) - Philadelphia, USA - AUG 23, 2001
Surprisingly, this is not terrible. Yeasty aroma hinting at coffee, followed by a yeast flavor that is accompanied by hints of prune and plums. Again, not terrible, just too yeasty and flat. fishman (350) - Philadelphia, USA - AUG 23, 2001
I don’t know why I continue to punish myself. While this beer wasn’t as terrible as its premium lager cousin, it was not very good. It had a sharp/yeasty taste in the middle of my tongue that just made the whole experience unpleasant.

Smooth dark ale. Nice flavor with just a hint of chocolate. So far, my favorite beer! Dave Grubbs99 (3) - USA - APR 29, 2001 does not count
Very smooth, refreshing dark lager. Has a nice taste. Could drink anytime. Great with Brats. LadyBeerLover (70) - Benton, Arkansas, USA - MAR 24, 2001

Better than the original and priced the same. Good with Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Brats or any other standard American fare. Bring it to the next picnic and seem interesting, but not quite the beer snob. lil-dabz99 (54) - Lake Linden, Michigan, USA - FEB 26, 2001
Not bad... Ain’t bitter, cool aftertaste.
