UPDATED: JAN 6, 2013 Drunk it from the tap and it was delicious! Creamy foam, malty, flavour of roasted hazelnuts. Very quaffable.

On tap at the Löwenbraukeller. Clear, glowing brown. Bittersweet, malty. Burned sugar, a little chocolate. Very pleasant.

Darker copper coloured with a small tan head. Aroma of toasted malt, some caramalised sugars, a bit of pit fruit and a fragrant nuttiness. Medium-bodied; Mild malt flavour throughout with a subtle hint at those pit fruits with more of a stronger taste with the nuts. Aftertaste lasts long in the palate with some of the bittering agents dropping in longer. Overall, a decent dunkel, nothing superlative, but great to try! I sampled this on draught on 07-June-2004 in Sydney, Australia at the Lowenbrau Restaurant on ’The Rocks’.

On tap. Surprisingly refreshing dark beer with a small head but a fine malty aroma reminding me of some nuts and caramel. Tastes very light and easy, something sometimes unusual for a darker beer.

dark brown color. Malty. Lots of chocolate malt. Decent and one of the better dunkles I had in Germany

ganache (6138) - New Jersey, USA - JAN 20, 2006
Bottled. Caramelly with some dough in the nose. Also, strong notes of toffee and roasted malt. Poured chestnut with a pillowy beige head and great lacing. Sweet and malty flavor, not at all bitter, similar to the wonderful aroma but unfortunately, not nearly as strong. Mild. Well-made and easy-drinking. I’ll have another, please.
