500 ml bottle, from Rewe Getränkemarkt, Erding. ABV is 5.5%. Fairly dark brown colour, big to moderate off-white to beige head. Moderate aroma of münchener malts and fresh bread, hints of caramel and fruits/berries. The flavour has some notes of dark malts and caramel, hints of fruit and chocolate, with lightly roasted and moderately hoppy notes in the finish. Nice to drink. BlackEyePA (573) - USA - SEP 30, 2010
Great beer. I’m fond of dunkels and this is a good one. Definately worth a taste. Good flavor, texture, creamy rich and dark roasted coffee, chocolate and malt run through. It’s fantastic, try it. TimE (5817) - Tokyo, JAPAN - JUL 3, 2012
dark brown color. Malty. Lots of chocolate malt. Decent and one of the better dunkles I had in Germany MRMedellin (300) - Bogota, COLOMBIA - APR 2, 2014
Clear dark beer with beige small and stable head. Coffee and malt aromas with some notes of leaves, medium body with caramel flavors and some esters at the medium and a nice bitterness at the end, but a watery finish. StevieT (2013) - AUSTRALIA - NOV 14, 2014

On tap at Munich brewpub. A very cloudy orange-brown with a thick, creamy, resilient white head. Aroma is hazelnut, roast, toasted bread. Flavor is roast, some hazelnut and caramel. Finish is roast, coffee. Lingering caramel sweetness. Medium body, soft, velvety mouthfeel and average carbonation. pivnizub (10619) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - MAR 10, 2008
Bottle: Amber coloured, mid-sized, stable off-white head with a little lace; moderate caramelly and roasted malty nose with a faint illusion of coffee and dried fruits; moderate to robust sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied; sweet caramelly finish with a discreet fruitiness. a nice example of this style, a bit like a perfectly diluted Doppelbock.......... Shared with oldrtybastrd. This is a dark brown with roasted malt coming to the forefront. This is a very decent beer as it is made to enjoy. FatPhil (16102) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - JUL 26, 2009
500ml bottle (BeerAngel.de)
Lovely rich brown, brief head. Stodgy husky grainy aroma. Soft palate,
smooth malty body. Woody taste, some wine, or even cognac. Lovely full
grainy nutty maltiness comes through in the finish too, with some woody
bitterness, and some slightly extracty hops too. Good alt-style dunkel.
