An average dark. This Löwenbräu dunkel is good if you see it as a mass produced beer. But it is not something extraordinary. JonR888710 (999) - Cochabamba, BOLIVIA - JUN 25, 2004
Burnt copper body with a thick creamy head. Smells lightly of malts, barley. Tastes of malt, light english hops, soda water. Hoppy aftertaste. Not much flavor. Sampled on draught at the Lowenbrau restaurant at the Rocks in Sydney, Australia. Ungstrup (38215) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - JAN 21, 2006

(Bottle 50 cl) Very pretty, clear light brown with a neat, off-white head. Nose is purely roasted malt. Medium body with loads of roasted malt and caramel. Perhaps even a lightly burned edge. Mainly sweetish with a light bitter finish. A classical and lovely Dunkel. 220106 GarethYoung (1111) - Glasgow, SCOTLAND - MAR 1, 2006

Creeping cherryish fruit, watery prune, chocolate. Thinnish, metallic and a bit raisiny. shrubber85 (11570) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - AUG 30, 2008
Bottle. Sweet corn syrup malt aroma with hint of grass hops. Dark brown color with moderate head. Burnt sugar and barley malt flavor. Grassy hops finish. oh6gdx (26487) - Vasa, FINLAND - JAN 25, 2009
Bottled (from beerangel.de). Deep rubyish brown colour, with small beige head. Aroma is caramel malts, some mild roasted notes as well as mild burnt sugar. Flavour is quite grassy hoppy along with caramel and roasted malts. Aftertaste is rather sweet. Still very wellbalanced, even though not that exciting.
