This beer pours a gorgeous dark amber to brown, but crystal clear with an off-white head that lingers a while. Not a strong aroma, but what is there is dominated by sweet, grainy malts. The body is medium with enough carbonation to keep it from being too heavy. Crisp and refreshing. The flavor is dominated by malty sweetness with a nice light hop finish, just enough to balance the malts.

On tap at Lownbrau in Berlin 09.01.13. It was OK .. standard dunkel color, aroma of similar cocoa and sweet caramel notes. Taste was cocoa at the start though a little rougher and bitter than other german dunkels on the market ... overall, OK but much better options in the category available

OLD NOTES MAR 27, 2004 Out of the tap. Went down smoothly. Alot of caramel malt character with a tad of chocolate to it. Sweet, liked the flavour, but nothing outstanding to make an truely awesome beer.

Served in a stein and looks ok from here. Aroma is nuts and parmesan. Taste is somehow not so sweet but has a parmesany sourness. Ok mouthfeel, medium body. Not good, not particularly bad.
