500ml on tap at the Löwenbräukeller, Munich. Aroma is roasted, dark berries, plums. Appearance is dark amber to brown with a brown foam. Taste is sweet and light bitter. Dry and bitter after taste. Medium carbonation. Good.

Really dark brown color with tan head. Aroma has toasted malt and dark bread. Taste is malty, leans definitely towards the sweet side, dark bread, bread crust, burnt sugar and finishes with a slight earthy bitterness. Medium body with medium to low carbonation. Overall it’s quite good but a bit sweet for my taste.

Aroma: roasted dark malts, caramel, crusty bread. Appearance: deep amber color and creamy head. Taste: roasted dark malts, crunchy bread, caramel, celler, well-covered alcohol, quite dry. Palate: medium body and medium carbonation, roasted finish. Overall: Really nice dunkler doppelbock, quite complex.

UPDATED: OCT 8, 2016 Dark sweet brew not as bitter and extreme as Salvator, definitely sweeter and creamier. Some bitterness in the finish but this is a malt bomb doppelbock. Slight booziness to it, but fits the style and isnt abrasive. Reminds me of the Weltenberg barock dunkel with its cookie malt taste, just this one is a bit more fortified. Cool beer but not my favorite ever in the style.

0.5l bottle. Dark ruby body, thin tan head. Aroma of caramel, toast, orange zest and floral hops. Taste of caramel, toast, chocolate, orange zest, some berries and floral hops. One of the sweeter and less roasty doppelbocks. I like it a lot.

München flaska vad mu affären hette.Russin och plommon arom. Fin färg och lacing. Fint balanserad sötma mot den humle som finns. Inget vattnigt hål. Inte ett uns av alkoho6. Löwenbraus bästa ? Jaa siche:-)r

Bottle. Bronze-brown. Very sweet aroma, many shades of malt, dried fruit, spirits. Taste: malt sweetness, dried red currants, caramel, wine.

Brian body, beige head. Brown bread, pound cake, bay leaves, bit dusty. Totally in style and while the clean fermentation makes it a little dull, it’s quality stuff. Tasty malty body, very pleasant alcohol warmth. Not sharp or nasal at all, which i like. Generally I would prefer more sweetness but from now and then a good bock is very much appreciated, and this a good one. (50cl bottle from Saveur Bière)

Bottle. Almost black color, tan head. Smell of chocolate. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, caramel, roasted malt. Heavy sweet, light bitter. Not bad, but it actually tastes more like cocoa then beer.

Dark brown, almost black. Little light brown head. Aroma: dark chocolate, raisins, some slight smoke. Nice bitterness, tiny sweetness and a bit sourness from the carbonation. Long aftertaste. Overall decent.
