Xmas in Latrobe this year meant drink Rolling Rock. Their Loyalhanna poured a nice amber color with a good head and malty nose, with less of the usual Rolling Rock DMS. The body was light for the nose and look, but that just made it easier to drink. Really, very similar to what most German Octoberfests are these days, with the added bonus of being fresher and less expensive. Definately worth buying again. zach8270 (4021) - Henrietta, New York, USA - DEC 24, 2003
UPDATED: DEC 12, 2008 [draft at Heinz Field - Pittsburgh, PA] Nice rich color. Very slight hoppy aroma. Initial hoppy taste with a smooth finish. Very easy to drink, but rather thin. On the whole, not a bad lager. tsarman (794) - Northern, New Jersey, USA - DEC 6, 2003
A little bland, but really easy to drik at the same time. Much better than rolling rock, latrobe's other beer. surfmurf (85) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 2, 2003
strong full bodied flavor. Deep rich color and excellent head made this relative newcomer one I'd buy again. CapFlu (5132) - Victoria, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 25, 2003
(Draught) Amber body and a thin, almond head. Little nose? Slight hops but thin, thin, thin!

yellow fizzy beer, with a skunky nose, some DMS coming out. Very little hops or fresh malt. very bland. obxdude10 (2374) - Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 24, 2003
Not good at all, terrible lager, skunky aroma, skunky flavors, lacks basically everything a good lager needs to have

I liked it better then Yuengling, but still wasn't that impressed by it. mrpeanut (17) - Latrobe, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 4, 2003
It lacks the bitterness that Yuengling has. JUst right in my opinion. However, if you've ever seen the Loyalhanna creek that it is named after you wouldnt drink it. raymow (1787) - Bensalem, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 18, 2003
O.K. for a cheaper beer. It's a typical drinkable lager, good for a night out at the bar. Tastes pretty similar to Killarneys Red Lager (from A-B). I bought a case and I'd probably buy it again - not a craft/micro brew, but not terrible either.
