Shining Dawn is a unique Belgian style golden ale fermented with a special Belgian Yeast Strain. Expect a slightly earthy, spicy aroma. Shining Dawn’s flavor is crisp and clean but with very pronounced yeast characteristics. THis is a very complex yet refreshing offering that finished a little dry. encouraging the next taste.

UPDATED: FEB 5, 2011 Starts out very promising. Nice golden color and good Belgian ale aroma. But oh no, they have gassed it with oily West Coast hops! Too bad, would have been a solid Belgian, but now just another run of the mill microbeer.

this one is kinda odd. belgian spicyness in the aroma that you would sort of expect but the bitterness on the back end is low and sharp and lingers. hit me for a loop. unique but not what I was thinking.

Bottle. Pours light and clear golden with a bubbly, rock two finger head. Nose is fresh yeast and mildly sour grain.. Flavor is quite dry with only the lightest residual sweetness. Pronounced plant-like bitterness beginning in the middle and growing into the finish and well into the aftertaste. I usually like bitterness, but that threw me off a bit - not well integrated. A pretty good attempt at belgian using US ingredients but the hops seem incongruous.

Keg @ Lucette. Gold pour with a small head. Apple sauce. Belgian yeast. Bubble gum. Flavor of honey. Sort of toasty. Some Orange peel. Light body, soft carb.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours a clear gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a light floral note with lots of grain and bread supporting. Flavor has a touch of earthy sweet grains with a bit of bread and biscuit underlying.

Pint at taproom/brewpub in Menomonie, Wisconsin. Consumed on 8-15-15. Pours a pale blonde to straw color. Mostly clear. Slight haze, but it may be a chill haze. Smooth, creamy, even, nearly white head. Light effervescence. Looks good. Strong, fruity aroma features scents of orange, green grape, and golden raisin. Nice, dry, Belgian golden ale flavor. Apricot. Fruity yet hoppy in taste. A hint of lemon and minerals in the finish. Easy to drink. Lively and frothy in the palate. Light to medium body. Likable beer. Nothing special but solid. This is a decent to pretty good beer; I’m a tough reviewer.

22ounce corked bottle from Costco. Golden yellow in appearance with frothy white head. Lots of carbonation. Spicy aroma. Slight bitter finish reminding me of a homebrew.

Clear pale golden. Nice frothy white head. Moderate yeasty. Quite peppery, spicy. Earthy. Flowers. Mild citrus. Fairly dry. Nice balance.

Aroma is Belgian yeast, lemons and spices. The flavor spices, citrus/lemons and an earthy/slightly dirty finish.

Bottle poured into chalice. Golden straw color with nice white head. Spicy, peppery flavor with a crisp finish.

750ml corked bottle. Hazy unfiltered pale yellow-tan. Foamy white head laces the glass. Very tasty. Easy medium body. Dry spicy noble hops, grassy and resinous. Zesty flowery freshness, smooth clean golden malt with a pleasant balancing light yeastiness, and a orange-lemon rind twang. All about the balance. Great beer.
