Slow Hand American Stout is full of scents reminiscing of roasted coffee and dark chocolate. This beer is black in color and has flavors of roasted malts with rich chocolate. The hop presence in this beer is low, only to balance the big malt characteristics of this stout. Slow Hand has a creamy mouthfeel that finished with medium sweetness.

Deemed a stout, seems more like a porter. Chocolate and coffee on the nose. Chocolate, roasted coffee flavor. Seems a little thin for a stout. Still good.

Aroma is coffee and dark/roasted malts. The flavor is dark/roasted malts, coffee, mild chocolate, a hint of fruit and an acidic/slightly tart finish.

Can poured into a glass. Dark black. it did not have the tall, thick head I was expecting. Heavily roasted grain, some chocolate but i am not getting coffee. Good, smooth palate. Some sugar, but the roasted grain quality is stronger than the sweet flavor.

Can. Pours opaque black with thick tan head and substantial lacing. Chocolate, vanilla, and cream aromas with some pine hops. Some chocolate and bitterness upfront with vanilla and coffee following. Piney hop bitterness in the long finish. Slightly lighter in body than expected. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

16oz can from Rays in Tosa. Root beer colored pour with a tan head leaving streaky lace. Aroma has chocolate, some roast and some caramel. Taste is huge caramel with light cocoa. Medium to full bodied with little alcohol presence. Finishes sweet with light bitterness in the end. Nose was better than the taste, unfortunately, as the promise of the roasty chocolate faded.13.4

Pint can pours a dark brown/black with slight Amber highlights and a medium tan head. Aroma of mellow coffee and roasted malts, with chocolate. Taste of dry roasted malts, bitter bakers chocolate, with some light hops on the finish. Decent and enjoyable.

Sienna brown, very dark, with a thin lining of beige foam. Toasted graham cracker, prune, cocoa powder aroma, with a bit of oxidized coffee. There is warmth and depth, though the vague sourness of black malts is distracting, along with a pinch of butter. Malt forward, balanced flavor, quieter on roast and rough character and more toward delicate, tempered sweetness; cookie dough, red fruits, caramel. Soapy, astringent black malts are not entirely absent, and again, quite distracting. Thin but textured mouthfeel, stylistically appropriate. Quiet, bakers chocolate and bread crust finish. Though not suited to my taste, this is definitely a good effort.
