The pour is nearly copper in color with a white head. Rather sweet on the nose with lots of caramel and toffee. Very little hop character, maybe just a bit of an herbal note. The flavor is similarly poor. Bread, caramel, and toffee are the primary flavors with minimal hop influence. deyholla (11605) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JUN 19, 2012
On tap at SPSBF. Pours a clear amber gold with an off-white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of sweet grains that combines with some pine and onion notes. Flavor again has pine and onion with a pretty strong sweet grain note. cubs (10635) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - MAY 28, 2012
Bottle @ home, courtesy of armin. Thanks! Reddish orange appearance with a small, cream head. Light fusel, orange citrusy, a bit toasty aroma. Somewhat bready, earthy, light citrusy, a little boozy flavor. Eh. BVery (10510) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - JAN 8, 2012
Tap at Groveland Tap in St. Paul, MN. Golden pour with a white head. Nice floral aroma, medium palate. Taste was floral and citrus hops, just a touch of pine. Tasty DIPA, the 9% ABV was pretty well hidden. Good stuff. arminjewell (9669) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - MAR 20, 2012
Pour on tap, Winterfest 2012. Clear orange-red pour with white head, aroma brought notes of big caramel and pine notes, hints of slight fruity grapefruit and orange in there, slightly spicy as well.. Taste was not quite as good and pretty harshly bitter, some slight pine and grass with sweet biscuit and caramel notes, again with the biter finish. No sign of alcohol though.

22 oz bomber purchased at Zipps in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The pour is mostly clear copper golden with a one inch white head that fell fairly quick. The aroma is a nice resin character, along with sweet maltiness. As the beer warmed, the aroma picked up a bit of earthy herbal, along with signs of alcohol. The taste starts with the malt sweetness, some herbal floral to the sweet, along with a touch of the resin bitterness of the nose. The earthiness of the aroma gives way to a bit of a pepper vegetal that didn’t really work too well with the malt sweetness. The palate is medium to light bodied, soft natural carbonation and a dry mostly clean finish. The 9% is pretty well disguised. Decent enough. jcnielsen (3412) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - DEC 17, 2012
Bottle. Thanks to bnielsen13. Pours a golden orange color with white head. Citrus, light hop, grassy flavors. Hophead22 (2879) - Redlands, by way of Wisconsin,, California, USA - SEP 20, 2012
22oz bottle. Rating #26. Hazy brownish color with a fluffy off-white head. Mild pine aroma and a little cardboard. Flavor was similar, a little bit of citrus and just a hint of diacytyl and a mildly bitter aftertaste. (2496) Atom (2453) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JUL 21, 2012
Had a few times now, on tap at HLBD, pours a copper amber with a small khaki head. Aroma of bready caramel malts, some citrus and slight hop. Taste is earthy but rather simple non-complex hops, with caramel malt. Not bad but certainly nothing special. ElGaucho (2401) - Minnetonka, Minnesota, USA - FEB 8, 2012
UPDATED: MAR 1, 2012 3/1/2012: Had this again last night at Gold Nugget. Awesome. It’s unfortunate mattyb83 had such a negative experience, because with only 6 ratings his 1.7 rating is unfairly weighing down the mean. Especially considering from his review it sounds like the glass he had perhaps wasn’t properly cleaned. I had a Deschutes Hop Henge afterwards, another beer I am a fan of, and I distinctly preferred the Camo. 2/8/2012: Tap at Gold Nugget. Sweet hop aroma. Mostly clear amber body without any visible carbonation. Some early lace. Really well balanced, strong with hops. Two lucid beers down and two winners. You have to get your hands on this beer.
