Obfuscate (584) - Minneapolis, - MAR 13, 2015
UPDATED: MAR 22, 2015 This used to be a go to beer for me but haven’t had one in awhile. Nice clean tropical fruit; Papaya, pineapple. Super clean with some hop bitterness. Just clean, tropical, refreshing. Ultimately these type of hoppy, citrusy APA’s are a go to for 6 pack drinking in spring and summer. If you like APA’s this is a must try.

Hazy Orange color with a foamy head, abundant lacing and mild carbonation. Aroma of yeasts, floral hops, toffee, caramel and barley. Taste is fairly identical to the aroma but with more of a resiny taste. Moderate palate weight and mild carbonation. Very good!

Bottle. Plus a clear dark gold body with a rather large foamy off-white head that had decent retention. The nose is rather interesting, lots of mango, papaya, some juicyfruit gum like hoppiness, with a minimal pale malt base that lets the hops shine. The flavor is just as heavy on the tropical fruit from the hops as the aroma led onto. Similarly, the malt has little impact, it’s light and bready and allows the flavor to be driven by the hops. Very clean flavor, nicely dry. Light bodied with soft fizzy carbonation. Pretty nice stuff, I would drink this with some regularity if it were available in my area.

Bottle into glass. Appearance- Looks like a pale, head is there but doesn’t last forever. Aroma- biscuit, citrus with subtle floral/herb. Taste- much like the nose with a bit more orange citrus and mild spicy earthy hops. Palate- medium to light body with some bitterness and very clean. This pale is subtle but complex. The style is more of a balanced old/new world style. My favorite part is that it isn’t pushing the boundary of IPA and Pale. Aromatic and clean like a pale should be.

UPDATED: JUL 24, 2014 Nice balance; good hops "bite". Pleasant aftertaste. A well-done APA, low enough alcohol to be session-able.

Nice Pale Ale. Great aroma. Nice light orange color. Tasted a little sharp maybe to much carb. Lingering dank, slightly spicy bitterness. I'd order it again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at SPSBF. Pours a clear gold with a white head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has some grassy hops with a hint of bitterness from grapefruit and a bit of earthy grains. Flavor has some sweet grains up front with a nice hop combination with grapefruit and grass notes.
