A Belgian golden ale. On the nose it is lightly hoppy and yeastily spicy, with faint caramelly malt notes and a touch of citrusy and estery fruit. The head tastes extremely bitter, as is often the case with this style. Surprisingly fruity, but with a strong hoppy bitterness. There is a warming, malty, vanilla quality to it, which develops into an alcohol kick towards the end. Secondary fermentation in the bottle.

Slightly hazy appearance with a little sedimentation and a massive head. Malty and fruity aroma.

0.33l old bottle from Braai Tapperij de Mug in Middelburg. This is a a blurry pale golden one with a big and near everlasting bright white heavy lacing head. The aroma has some dusty spiderweb wibes, some old ripe strawberries, yeast and some Belgian white sugar. It still has a aggressive carbonation level and a thin oily texture in the mouth. The flavor reveals some raw alcohol, white sugar, floral tones, that characteristic Belgian yeast, thin watery lemons and something earthy/dusty. Clearly quite old this. I like the name more than the beer itself, but it’s by no means a bad one. Just a bit, what to say, standard and ordinary? 08.06.2012

75cl bottle, expired april 1989! At home, shared with Mathieu87. APPEARANCE: clear blond beer, no foam whatsoever. NOSE: alcohol, grains, very jenever like. TASTE: jenever again, some sour apples... Very nice experiment, but not worth drinking anymore off course... The regular Lucifer like taste is gone completely. No hops detectable anymore and fruity bitterness is replaced by alcohol warming feeling.

Hoofdsmaak is zuur en wat bitter. Nasmaak is overheersend bitter. Weinig geur. Ruikt naar een ’gewoon’ biertje. Duvel van Moortgat kan ik zeer waarderen, helaas dit biertje stuk minder.

Classic Belgian golden. Pleasantly in the fruit esther malt department and slightly spicey towards the back and finish. Classic!

Poured from a bottle, pours cloudy light amber, tastes of fight, raspberry and slight metallic. Not bad, not my type. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

For a Belgian of this magnitude , it really lacks the luster. Has the strength if a hard Belgian, with a malt fruity and low hops. Still worth a try ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Mmm, delicious. Effervescent, crisp, and dry. Nice amount of alcohol with a distinct and somewhat unique blend of the usual Belgian spices.

33cl bottle at BXL Zoute inNYC. Pours cloudy hazy orange with medium white head and lots of lacing. Alcohol and hops come through with some citrus aroma. A pleasant beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Little disappointing. Not a bad Belgian but nothing special. Slightly fruit and Spicey. Some lemon. Yeast, bread. Ok ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
