A Belgian golden ale. On the nose it is lightly hoppy and yeastily spicy, with faint caramelly malt notes and a touch of citrusy and estery fruit. The head tastes extremely bitter, as is often the case with this style. Surprisingly fruity, but with a strong hoppy bitterness. There is a warming, malty, vanilla quality to it, which develops into an alcohol kick towards the end. Secondary fermentation in the bottle.

UPDATED: NOV 28, 2005 Only slight grapefruitaroma. Strong hopbitter taste with a bit of citrus. Duvel-clone, but with less aroma, taste, complexity and power. Other bottle-type, other label, other breweryname (Liefmans Breweries), but the recipe is probably the same. Very blonde, this Duvel imitation. Soft chalky lemon-like aroma. Flowery, hoppy, honey-like flavor with lime. Dryish with just a bit of fruity sweetness. Not bad, but Duvel is better.

goldden body, medium head. this had a very 'peppery' taste - event to the point that it tasted like i had pepper flakes on my toungue. that was the best part. ther was some tangy-yeastiness. the medium hop flavor helps out the dry finish. this was o.k.

I was not impressed. I noticed no distinctive qualities in flavor whatsoever. Extremely light in color, huge head, mild aroma, no flavor and a mediocre finish.

Devilishly large 750ml bottle. Thick with spices, this quality Belgian brew is a bit fizzy, but is pleasant. Metallic bitterness and touches of hops bring this brew down. As with everything, the Devil is in the details.

Really an excellent Belgian. Definately a yeasty nose, but it has nice fruity tones throughout and a good hop bitterness that I enjoyed. Decidedly one of the better Belgians.

Smelled awful, tasted bad. Not what I thought is was going to be. Boddington is a better golden ale

UPDATED: FEB 17, 2003 re rate Bottle conditioned. Faintly hazy straw gold, moderate head and condition. Bready yeast aromas carried up on alcoholic vapours. Sweet and yeasty in the mouth with a slight citric edge which lingers into the short finish.

Like its name suggests, this stuff is wicked!! Real smooth and fruity taste, but after 2 of them you start to buzz.

Eh. Budweier with alcohol and cherry accents. Quite bitter. After swallowing it was like i just swigged some atered down vodka, initials tastes disappeared way too quickly. Mediocre, granted i wish budweiser tasted like this and carried its wallop. De debil wasn't in this brew, only melancholy.
