Bottled 24/08/13. A blonde beer with a nice bright bubbly white head. A creamy light lemony beer. Verging on sweet and lagerish at times. Really quite uninspiring all things considered. OllieBBommel (1531) - NETHERLANDS - AUG 18, 2013
Bottle 33cl, from backlog. Head: white foam. Colour: golden. Aroma: spicy, some clove, some citrus. Taste: bitter & sweet roasted malt. Palate: medium body, medium CO2. Overall: nice. darioklc (807) - Karlovac, CROATIA - AUG 17, 2013
Big, white, billowing head. Small amounts of bubbles within a straw-yellow, if brilliant, beer. Backlighting results in a gorgeous glow. Some scattered lace.
The maintaste is spicy, a bit tart (lemons), and yeastily typical. Pretty great in every way, if we’re being honest. Not exceptional, mind, but an exemplar of the style.
A superlative Belgian Strong Pale Ale -- one of the finest -- and highly recommended. Mora2000 (6158) - McKinney, Texas, USA - AUG 11, 2013
Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle. Golden color with a white head. The aroma is full of biscuit malt with some grass thrown in. The flavor is biscuit, oranges and floral hops. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

750 mL bottle at home. Pours lightly hazy gold with a large, frothy white head, long retention and excellent lacing. Aroma is fruity esters, biscuit and straw malt, spicy hops and Belgian yeast notes. Flavor is crisp malt, fruity esters, Belgian yeast notes, light hops and bitterness and a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Christos (5862) - Arnhem, NETHERLANDS - AUG 9, 2013
Bottle, 330 ml, poured into a tulip at home. ABV 8%
Clear deep golden yellow on the body, with a tall white, soapy head. Very good retention and heavy lacing left around the glass as the foam collapses. Steady stream of bubbles rising to the surface.
Fruity aroma with lots of yeast, faint floral hops as well.
Taste is also fruity and less yeasty than the aroma implied, with a nice refreshing bubblegum note on the aftertaste.
Medium body, medium bubbly carbonation. Fairly dry on the palate.
Overall quite typical belgian strong ale but it has this little extra something of Het Anker. Very good. lachneger (394) - NETHERLANDS - AUG 6, 2013

Wheaty white and sour aroma. wow. incredibly clean pear cider white color. with poppy white head. Much more balanced than I thought it would taste. Bit of a citrus zing a first but quickly reveals hints of pear, butter and cinnamon in the aftertaste. This is a beautifully complex beer. gEUS (1637) - Linden, BELGIUM - AUG 2, 2013
Draft at brasserie het anker. Pours clear dark yellow with no head. Metallic smell and taste way too carbonated. Hmmmmm. No.
