bottled, special
This is a hybrid, red Octoberfest beer brewed with British and German malts and Styrian Goldings. It combines the luscious maltness of an Octoberfest and the character from a Scottish yeast.

Bottle at home. Pours clear copper, nose is fruity, toffee, taste is sweet and malty.

Cask at The Hanging Bat. Pours clear copper, thick off-white head. Aromas of toffee, marzipan, stone fruit. Taste is more of the same, quite a heavy sweetness, more marzipan. Touch on the sweet side for me, but nice.

Cask at The Hanging Bat. Hazy amber body with a thin off-white head. Nice lacing. Aroma of copper, marzipan and Christmas pudding. Flavour is a bit weird - earth, spice, nuts, icing sugar and candied plum. Thin body with a watery, slightly oily texture. Faint carbonation prickle. An odd beer - not undrinkable by any means, but just very unusual and not particularly moreish. Liquidised Christmas pudding.

Bottle. Dark amber with off white head. Slight metallic aroma with caramel tofee and slightly vegetal. Taste of caramel, earth. Quite bitter, almost tangy. Can’t say I’m in to this.

Bottle at home from alesela
Pours hazy deep ruby with fluffy cream head. Slightly metallic tinned peaches and slight spice on the nose. Quite thin, biting carbonation, sweet malt, fairly abrupt finish. Creamy malt mouthfeel and a touch of lemonrind but overall fairly bland. Wrong choice of hops I’d wager.
