COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Lucky Buckets Original American IPA begins with a nice malt bill that lets the brew stand up to the mountain of hops added later. After the boil, the hot wort (the beer before its really beer) is fired through a hop back, a unique four-barrel stainless steel tank filled with a gratuitous amount of raw flower Amarillo, Centennial, and Cascade hops, extracting the aromatic oils and flavor of the hops. Followed with additional dry hopping in the fermenter, the end result is a big, well-balanced West Coast-style IPA with terrific hop flavor and aroma.

Thanks to trade with huskertan! Pours a clear golden brown from the bottle with minimal white head that leaves moderate lace, filtered. Aroma of big resinous citrus and floral hops with good caramel malt back end. Taste follows, good balance, nice hop presence, bittersweet finish. Quick finish, clean and easy, moderate carbonation, solid, but nothing special.

355ml bottle (Beertopia, Nebraska) - thanks Frank!
Massively sharp lemony citrus aroma. Some pine needles and spruciness later. Sweet caramelly malts. Lots of pine needles, tons of citrus, and some sherbert in the taste, alas some floor-cleaner aspects to those hops too. Some soapiness in the finish, and more pine. Nice full palate, pleasant carbonation. Fairly solid IPA, but a little soapy and a little sweet.

Nocturne (1928) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - APR 19, 2015
Tap at Q-Brick, Osaka. Amber shade with a short head. Floral hop aroma. First impression of the taste is a more maltier, English-style take on the IPA. Caramelly, earthy, jammy hop fruitiness. Finishes malt sticky and moderately bitter. Nice enough.

On tap at Watering Hole. Served in a shaker pint. Hazy amber color with a slight head. Big pine needle and citrus hops on the nose with aromas of toffee and caramel as well. Taste is more of the same although really well-balanced. Full-bodied with a slightly rich and creamy mouthfeel. A touch of caramel goodness on the palate with a nice dry hoppy finish. Solid IPA.
