Lucky Bucket Pre‐Prohibition Lager has an updated craft brewer’s twist as its signature: it’s dry‐hopped with a fresh blend of aromatic hops. The dry hopping schedule is a unique hop mix that was derived from numerous tests and private samplings. The resulting blend includes aromatic Cascade, Centennial and Amarillo hops.

Dark gold pour with a thin foamy head. Something might be off here. Aroma is maly, grainy and slightly acetic/vinegary. Flavour is tart, getting a fair amount of vinegar which shouldn't be...carbonation seems more effervescent than what I would consider normal. Will consider a re-rate if I can find a single some time. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Yeasts, cereal grains, hops all encompassed by a slightly sour and bitter flavor. Could’ve gone without the sourness though. It’s easy to drink but there are better simpler tasting beers out there

A little malt/metal in the aroma. Looks okay. This is decent. A good boyd with boh some heft and a little crispness. Refreshing.

Lucky Bucket's pre-prohibition lager is by far one of the best NE beers that I have ever had. A well balanced aroma and clean finish make this beer both easy on the pallet and very drinkable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sampled at an esbls tasting. Copper gold and clear. A decent head. A grainy nose that is distinct and nice. Grainy flavor, too. Decent.

Clear orange golden color. Light cereal aroma. Light, balanced palate with a light cereal flavor. Why don’t people like this beer? I think it’s pretty decent.

12 oz bottle: Pours a light yellow with a thin white head. Aroma is doughy and bready, not much going on. Taste is a smooth lager with a slightly spicy side, possibly corriander. Easy to drink, but not very complex or interesting.

12oz bottle-pours gold with a tight offwhite head. Aroma is sweet light malt-bready, some spice. Taste is vegetal, light malt, some spice hops.

Picked up a sixpack of this lager before the holiday weekend. Poured a nice copper color with a nice level of head and carbonation. So far so good. The taste was sour, not terribly overwhelmingly sour but enough to question if I had gotten a bad bottle. I tried another bottle the following night -it was also bad. I contacted the brewery to ask about the off flavors. According to the brewery rep, sour is not an intended flavor in this beer! They offered to replace the six pack free of charge if I was in the area, and that they would like to investigate the problem. MN to NE is a little far to go for a sixer but the effort on the breweries part to correct the problem was promising. I did provide the bar code on the bottle so they could track the batch with their own records and hopefully determine what went wrong. I’d like to try a fresh example someday.
