UPDATED: APR 24, 2010 This was on tap at the brewery and was barrel aged. Murky brown pour with off white head. Sweet malt, dark cherries, and other dark fruit, sherry hints, in the aroma. Woody, with thin fruits, boozy sherry flavor. Med body with a wet mouthfeel and dry finish. It was not bad but it did not do much for me either. Pours very dark reddish brown with a foamy tan head. Aroma is resin/malt. Medium to full body with mild carbonation. Seems to be heading for doppelbock. Not too sweet though. Not too bitter either. Just right. Excellent pizza beer. riversideAK (6261) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - DEC 29, 2008
This might be a European Strong Lager. Who knows. It didnt really fit either style guidelines IMO. Sweetish aromas of some dark malts and earthy hops. Auburn colored beer with no head. The flavor is pretty malty with chocolate and toffee. A little dry earth in the finish, but pretty sweet and malt centric for sure.
