On tap at the Portland brewery. Couldnt decide if I liked it or not - Lots of roast flavour, but something weird as well - a bit of dog? Labrador? Low69caprice (100) - Yucca valley, California, USA - SEP 3, 2015
God roast aroma not much head. Palate is lean porter like. Flavor toasty but watery not bad but would like more richness. brokensail (16645) - Dublin, California, USA - JUN 21, 2015
On tap @ Lucky Labrador. Black in color with a khaki head. Pretty ash forward and big on the roasted malts. A bunch of licorice, burnt coffee, and maybe some earthy hops. A lot of bitter roast and ash on the tongue. Heavy coffee grounds and bitter dark cocoa. A little on the woody side. Marheb (6193) - San Diego, California, USA - MAY 20, 2015
(En cask à la brasserie): Une forte présence de mélasse dans une richesse chocolatée. Peu de houblons pour envelopper le tout mais quand même une forte buvabilité. Alphadelic (2249) - Portland, Oregon, USA - FEB 4, 2015
Cask at the Hawthorne location. A mellow roasted nose. In the mouth it is silly with plenty of nutty flavors and a long, low/medium bitterness. It’s okay but doesnmt afford the moreishness and drink ability I associate with this sort of stout.

On tap at the brewpub - Pours medium / dark brown with a tan head. The aroma has lots of smooth chocolate, roast, hazelnuts and mild coffee - comes across as a brown ale meeting a stout. It has a medium smooth body with delicate soft carbonation. Flavors begin with smooth chocolate (mild dark), nuttiness, hints of vanilla and very mellow coffee. The finish has light earthy hops joining the mix. Really nice foreign stout. I seem to be a sucker for the style a lot. douglas88 (9629) - Portland, Oregon, USA - AUG 17, 2013
On tap at the brewery. Pours a deep charcoal color with a small white head. A nose of metal, coffee and light roast. The flavor is more metallic roast, dry coffee, berries, some ash. Good. Lubiere (14151) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 14, 2012
A clear dark brown stout with a thin dark brown head. In aroma, good chocolate malt with coffee grinds, a bit musty. In mouth, a nice bitter chocolate with coffee notes, herbal, raspy, quite nice. On tap at brewpub at Hawthorne, Oct. 7 2012. Theydon_Bois (20628) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - NOV 17, 2012
Tap at Lucky Lab (Hawthorn) - 06/11/12.
Light black with a thin tan head which soon clears to the edges and forma a pond.
Nose is light roast malt, molasses and a hint of liqourice.
Tastes of roast malt, chocolate, liqourice, touch of soy.
Medium bodied with light spritzy carbonation leading to a roasty dryish finish. dfinney23 (3424) - Houston, Texas, USA - JUL 12, 2012
Roasted coffee and chocolate. Somehow creamy and thin and the same time. Nothing too special.
