On tap at Fredfest 2014. Pours reddish brown with a nice beige head and a fruity aroma. There is a full-bodied caramel malt flavor with lots of fruit and a bitter finish. Very tasty. pdx77 (1483) - Oregon, USA - MAR 1, 2014

dasilky tasting, hophead84 bottle, 06. cool bottle and wax... Pristine example of a 3 year old barleywine. Pours murky with a tan ring. Nose is hoppy still. Taste is sweet and hoppy, pretty damn good 3 years out. paytoplay (146) - , California, USA - DEC 14, 2009
dasilky tasting, hophead84 bottle, 06. cool bottle and wax... Pristine example of a 3 year old barleywine. not my fav of styles, this was textbook in a way, made it great. young i might be so so on this, with 3 years of age it’s very much balanced. far to easy to consume, not the most complex but delicious. carmel, dark malts and stays dry on the palate, other examples I’ve had just go so sweet, this beer is in a great place with many more years 10+ of life left.

Dasilky1 tasting. Dec 13th 2009. 22oz bottle opened by hophead84. Thanks Shane! It’s been on my wants for a long time. Amber color. Very nice hop aroma and flavor and late hop bitterness. Very surprized to hear it was bottled in 2006. Aged very well. Slightly sweet and malty. Some melanoidins. Hoppy barleywine. Excellent. DaSilky1 (2606) - San Diego, California, USA - DEC 13, 2009
2006: Pours a hazed petrified amber, thin sheet of froth. Smells nicely oxidized with crystallized hop bitterness balancing things out..piney with ribbon candy sweetness. Flavors are still full and nice, candy-ish...nicely still bitter..no faults..nicely aged goodness that doesn’t seem to have lost much of anything, just nicely nice. barleyPops (1142) - Quad-Cities, Illinois, USA - APR 24, 2009
2006 yellow wax top bomber from a trade almost a year ago with hannont, thanks Todd. "I hope nobody minds this placeholder rating for the purposes of the DD Top Ten list accuracy. I’ve got a real rating somewhere…." Sorry, the sarcastic streak, some would say smartass in me, just couldn’t resist. Pours a tarnished copper/amber with just a thin layer of foam after a vigorous pour into my snifter. By the time I had put the cap back on the bottle and turned around, the little bit of foam had dissipated to just a ring on the glass. Aroma was classic barleywine, caramelized malts, along with some dark ripe fruit, a touch of honey and a distinctive alcohol presence. Flavor follows the aroma theme with all the usual barleywine characteristics, heavy on the malt, subtle flavors of dark ripe fruits and a strong alcohol backbone. Also, this is a very full bodied beer. This is my kind of brew, very enjoyable! boFNjackson (4201) - Portland, Oregon, USA - MAR 7, 2009
[Vintage 2007] Tap @ Barleywine and Big Beer Fest... Poured a dark amber/red with a thin off-white head. Lots of alcohol which created a distinct barleywine tone. Buttery malt with strong bitter hop and acidic flavors. A little punch in the finish which had some dried fruit in addition to the hops and malt. willblake (2654) - Bel Air, Maryland, USA - DEC 7, 2008
