Half pint on tap at Lucky Lab Public House. Aroma is fruity, floral, and sweet with hints of berries and lightly vinous. Quaffable stuff. Definitely more of a barleywine-like aroma. Mostly transparent amber body with some orange hues and a nice creamy off-yellow head. Chewy sticky caramel malt flavors to start. Becomes a little roasted and a little more vinous in the middle. Finishes with mild ethanol and a pretty piney and grapefruity hoppiness. Somewhat reminiscent of Bigfoot, without it intense hoppiness. This is nice stuff, and very drinkable. It is definitely much more of a barleywine than an IIPA. drfabulous (8482) - Lexington, Kentucky, USA - JUL 24, 2010
Draught at brewpub. Grapefruit to some extent. Super malty and high ABV. Very intense. Enjoyable. stchloe (1104) - Portland, Oregon, USA - AUG 1, 2008
So take everything about the Super Dog and make it better! More hops and alcohol. Oh just let me drink from the tap. bikesandbeers (547) - san diego, California, USA - JUL 29, 2008
22 oz purchased at the brewpub, Dec 31 2007. opened July 27, 2008. hazy orange-ice tea color wiht a carmel malt nose with a health nose of citrus hops. tast is decently balence dcarmel malt with a citrus hop. the hop fades out in the finish, probably more than "normal" since this is a older bottle. A nice solid, not-too hoppy IIIPA WeeHeavySD (3387) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JUN 8, 2008
Bomber, purchase when I was there on New Years Eve with bikesandbeer and his gf. Its been a while and about time to open this since Kevin has a bottle of his own. Pours a dark orange with a 1 finger tan head. Nose is pretty nicely hoppy, with some resin in the nose. Taste is pretty nicely hoppy, with some citrus and a bit of a bitter bite. Not a bad DIPA, but takes a lot to impress me on this front.

On tap at LL on Quimby. 9.1% abv
Slightly cloudy deep orange mahogany with thin bright white ring of head.
Kind of odd smell... initial impression is of caramel but then it goes off on this weird herbal/menthol tangent. Mostly caramalty aromas, marzipan, marshmallow, some candied orange with herbal hops mounting in the background.
Tastes very much like I would have expected from the nose. Decent caramelly malt flavors that is kicked-up by orangey citrus hops and a strong bittering and acidic finish.
Soft, smooth and easy drinking feel for a DIPA. Hardly any excess alcohol perceptible.
Immensely drinkable, just too much caramalt for my wanton hop requirements. SuzyGreenberg (1603) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JAN 27, 2008
22 oz. bottle from brewery - was told that this was a quadruple IPA, what ever that means...haha; pours clear amber with big white head; chinook hop sweetness on the nose that reminds me of my homebrew; light texture that is slightly bitter; seems that the hops are mostly dry-hopped on this one BuckeyeBoy (8281) - Boise, Idaho, USA - JAN 10, 2008

clear amber, frothy off white head, sweet pine aroma, sweet caramel malt flavor with lots of bitterness and a bit of piney sweetness to pull it back into balance, finishes with lots of earthy character
Aroma: 7/10; Appearance: 6/10; Flavor: 7/10; Palate: 6/10; Overall: 13/20
Wow! This beer screams hops from the first pour to the last. Thick resinous nose and flavor with high alpha citrus fruitiness. Earthy and chewy is this IPA lover’s dream come true.
