Lunch at the brewery in Flagstaff on family vacation. Much better experience than I had two days previously at their sister Beaver Street Brewery. Waitress was informed, helpful, and seemed to have no issue with serving tasters, half pints, etc.. This IPA was enjoyable. Nice head which lingered a bit. Medium hops aroma, some sweetness in there somewhere. Medium body/mouth feel, smooth drinking which I appreciated. Very good taste with some citrus and malt. If I could get this off the shelf in New York, Id try it again.

On draft at the brewery. Clear golden amber pour, with a white head. Citrus, grapefruit, pine, grain, moderate bitterness, and light caramel. Not bad.

Poured into a becher pint glass, the appearance was a dark red almost brown color with a fingers worth of white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Mild stringy lace. The aroma starts off with some sweet to bitter grassy and piney hops. Light citrusy and floral hops show a light presence over some bready and caramel malts. The flavor brings together all of those previously mentioned aromas to blend. Nice aftertaste of malts to hops. Quick dry piney finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fine sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt fine. Appropriate harshness as an AIPA. Overall, good American IPA that I would have again if I could get it.

Can, brought back from Arizona by Lalitha. Hazy deep amber colour, white foam. Relatively malty for a US IPA with some slightly harsh crystal malt sweetness. Nice hop flavour and bitterness, medium finish. Slightly unusual tang to the hops, was pleasant. Overall, a bit different and ok.

12 oz single can from Total Wine & More - Gilbert, AZ. Clear golden to orange appearance with a small head and light lacing. Aroma of caramel malt, light citrus fruits, piney hops, toffee and toasted grain. Similar flavor, moderately sweet and moderately bitter with an average body and a slightly off finish. Just a little too sweet for an IPA, IMO.

12 oz Can. App: Clear golden orange with persistent head. Ar: Pine, Flower, Caramel. T: Pine, caramel, flower, herb. P: Smooth, soft body, with slightly foamy carbonation. Like they took the whole crop of Chinook and dumped it in their beer but with a slight floral and herbal note. That said, it has a strong malt backing and inviting palate.

I think if a new-ish beer geek was to ask whats resin mean, Id direct them to this beer. Thats not a bad thing at all. Lots of citrus and floral (hibiscus) notes. A touch of grass/hay. Very enjoyable.
