Bottle. Nearly black pour, light brown head. Aroma hits with what smells like cascade hops followed by some molasses, light chocolate and prunes. Flavor is hoppy on the start, molasses, dried fruit, chocolate, espresso and followed by more hops. Nice brew! Terminus (3683) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - MAR 29, 2012
tap at the brewpub feb 2012-listed as porter, however its the same alcohol content as this "imperial" listing-same beer im sure. pours deep brown with a small white head and some lacing. nose is huge-char and roasted notes very robust and big-flavors are robust as well char, hops and lite coffee, long roasty finish and nice body-a very solid porter that would be good on those many cold Flagstaff days. One of the better brewpub porters i have ever had. dcschiller (2208) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - DEC 30, 2011
(On draught at lumberyard). Pours a clear dark brown with garnet hues. Off-white head. Aroma has some cocoa, caramel and a touch of coffee. Taste is sweet malts with a touch of bitterness. Medium bodied. Quite tasty. Jow (3925) - New York, USA - OCT 5, 2012
Finally the last of my backlog from my week in Arizona! I drank this last of my sampler at the brewpub. I have never been more tired at 3 in the afternoon and i was fighting to stay awake but still this brew tasted damn good. pours jet black and you get coffee and hops on nose. tastes of hops, espresso, molasses, vanilla, and cola. hint of smokiness on finish and well carbonated. phaleslu (10267) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - NOV 21, 2012
Draft at the brewpub, served in a pint glass. Labeled "Porter." Pours a deep but not opaque brown with a finger of beige head that laces all the way down. Aroma of chocolate, roasty and toasty malts, nuts, coffee, and earth. Flavor is the same set of notes. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a rich, robust mouthfeel. Just a solid porter that teeters on imperial.

on tap-pours a light brown head and black with red color. Aroma is roasty, citrus-orange/pine. Taste is roasty-dark malt, citrus/orange/pine. Medium body black IPA. SuperDave (1932) - Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA - JAN 8, 2011
Dark pour with a creamy lasting head. Roasted malt, chocolate and dark fruit in the aroma. Flavor is roasty with a bit of molasses and a nice balancing hop presence. Really not bad at all. sneagrams3 (2337) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - JUN 14, 2010
Tasted 6/14/10. 22oz bomber. Opaque with a dark brown hue. Big bubbled khaki head. Aromas of soggy malts, grape-nuts cereal and grassy hops. Interesting. Faint spicy mint and dark chocolate. Mild smoke and coffee grounds. This is at cellar temperature, and I think this aspect really helps in the olfactory. It also accentuates this style of robust beer. Too much coffee and slowly following up with the dark chocolate and fudge. Bitter and tart flavors. Smoked coffee beans and bittersweet chocolate. Not quite as toasty as I like my porters. The alcohol is ample yet plays well with the sticky body and keeps you sipping. saxo (18331) - Højbjerg, Aarhus, DENMARK - JUL 21, 2012
Tap @ the brewpub. Nice head with good duration. Color is dark brown. Aroma and taste are roast malt, chocolate, coffee, notes of licorice and hops. Smooth and semi dry finish. Caytinator (1005) - Waco, Texas, USA - APR 21, 2013
Pint on tap, labeled "Porter" at the brewpub. Pours black, very nice thick persistent head, bubblin’ bastard. The alcohol content makes up for the relatively simple malt profile, not very bitter at all. Not really worthy of the "imperial" moniker. Medium body, nothing too special but easy to recommend.
