UPDATED: JUL 25, 2017 On tap at Lunar for a short window of enjoyment before the remainder was destined for greater things inside the recently acquired Heaven Hill barrel. Thanks, Tom Griffin! Snifter served, the color was coppery, with a creamy, off white/light tan head, and etched-like cling to the lacing. Some sweet esters & citrus, resinous & earthy notes were mildly restrained by a definite alcohol presence in the nose. The flavor then boasted intense & lingering hop bitterness, big alcohol, hefty malt, and some fruit-like malt sweetness, all in a full body. An impressive DIPA!
Recently enjoyed the current version, dispensed to a snifter. The new description lauds dry hopping with loads of Columbus. Same tasty mixture of pine, citrus, & pit fruit, with less intensity to the alcohol impression, which was stated as approx. 8.93%
