UPDATED: MAY 13, 2010 Draft at Brewers of South Suburbia picnic. The cobra tap kicked up a lot of foam, but it settled to a nice, half-finger bubbly froth. Dark copper malt color and a snoot of dry hop, I think. Taste brings up warm, piney hops, some grassiness, too. Mouthfeel is a tad thin, but note that this is not as served at the pub. Big bitter aftertaste is kind of nice. sersdf (1020) - chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 30, 2007
thanks elgaucho for a growler pour at DLD. another good APA from a good suburban chicago brewer. it’s listed as a wheat, which surprises me a little but i guess i just assumed it was an APA. it was deep red/brown and was indeed opaque. the beer was all hops in both aroma and flavor. pretty bitter back end as well. i didnt like it as much as emmett’s or the onion’s, but it’s definitely growler-worthy.
haha, i just realized i was rating the harvest moon rather than the moondance. van morrison, it’s all the same. sweet redemption. SubstanceT (1092) - Saint Louis, Missouri, USA - FEB 12, 2007
#1012, on tap at the brewery while at the Feb 2007 Chicago Area Ratebeer Gathering. Hazy copper golden going into dark up top. Thin quickly discipating white frothy head. Nose is citrusy and hoppy. Taste bitter with strong hops and good alcoho content. Tasty and crisp. As this warms up there is more grains and I preferr it colder. CigarsLoveBeer (153) - Illinois, USA - FEB 1, 2007
On Tap At Brewery. Hazy, orange body that lacks much head. Medium aroma, piney. In the mouth, I noted some molasses, followed by mild cream notes, then for lack of a better description: "A shit load of hops." Not back, complexity of a tommy gun. MHED (114) - lisle, USA - AUG 9, 2006
brewpub, on tap. Pours nicely deep amber , white head. Grapefruit and sublte spice in the aroma. More grapefruit and aggressive bittering are balanced by mediun caramel, molasses and roastiness. Finishes with a bitterness that lingers but making you want more.

Had this on draught in Villa Park, Illinois. I can say this about all Lunar’s beers - very clean and precise. Medium yellow pour with a nice thick head, nose of hops and roses, a bit sweet, with notes of gin, apples and oranges. Nice! ElGaucho (2401) - Minnetonka, Minnesota, USA - APR 18, 2006
Draught. Fresh hop aroma that is clean, nice and inviting. Large, light tan, rootbeer floatish head that is almost caskish. Lightly hazy copper and nice lace. Plenty of hops on the tongue; piney. Nothing at all wrong with this brew. A winner. I really enjoyed it. frankenkitty (2014) - Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA - OCT 28, 2005
Medium honey/amber colored, mostly clear, served without a head. Columbus hops are well-represented producing healthy grapefruit aromas that dominate light roasted grain and a bit o’ honey. Flavor was steady hops with rye and a hint of cherry. Astringent to finish with a pucker of lemon. Well done.

Beautiful unfiltered copper-orange in color with a creamy tan head. Aroma reveals fresh hops, orange blossoms, lilacs, honey and pine sap. Medium-bodied and bearing an orange crème trait not uncommon to some of this brewery’s beers. Tingly at times with a solid understanding for the style. Some papaya and grapefruit manifest mid-sip, sweetened with sugar sprinkles and nectar. A nice IPA. SkyinBrian (430) - Saint Louis, Missouri, USA - AUG 1, 2005
nice redish color with very thick head. hops are strong citrus and grapefruit with some pine. full bodied agressive ipa. very nice.
