Draft at source. Nose is buttered toast with smoke and a weird fruity thing. Strangely inviting in an u defining way blasts sinless impressive and is more of a flat brown malt beer that feels tired. rubbishystuff (2537) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - OCT 13, 2010
UPDATED: NOV 17, 2015 Had at the Lunar pub. Very nice brown ale. Rather nutty flavor. Quite drinkable. This one went home in a growler too. Serving: Tap tmoreau (4753) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - MAR 27, 2009
On tap at the brewpub after a long absense on the menu, pint served. Poured a reddish brown color with an off white/light tan head that diminished to a bubbly layer but left some nice, fairly solid lacing. The aroma was light roast and toast, with some sweet malt, and a touch of coffee. The flavor added to these some mellow nuttiness. The body was a bit light, carbonation was somewhat lively, and a subtle, even dryness followed through to the finish. A refreshing, quaffable brown. Nice timing for cool, spring weather. stoutchap (424) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 26, 2007
Pretty good nutbrown. A light brown pour. Sweet aroma. A very light hopping accents the background nuttiness. Not a trace of sourness that for some reason I associate with this style. StewardofGondor (1933) - Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 8, 2005
Semi-hazy and safire-copper in color with a creamy tan head. Lunar’s beers are simply beautiful to look at. Aroma is orange crème liquor, amaretto, hazelnuts and pepper. Man, this one’s got spunk: caramel and roasted malts called a party and maple, honey, hazelnuts and orange flavored toffee met the call. Nicely balanced, and for once, the carbonation is reserved for the style, dialing it back to showcase its nutty malt composure as it should. Top notch brown.

Tap at Lunar. Taste is quite fruity and English tasting. Seems nutty and a bit thin. But still a nice session ale. Cornfield (5569) - Oak Forest, Illinois, USA - JUN 27, 2005
UPDATED: JUL 4, 2005 At Lunar Brewing: Pouring the color of a dried date, this has quite the fruity nose, apple, traces of citric, distant cherries. And a very faint, earthy hop bitterness. Smooth in the mouth, it has a sweet caramel flavor accentuated by almonds, apples and plums. The earthy hops wave as they pass on the finish. Good session stuff.
