Real Raspberries add a tart and refreshing flavor to a lightly hopped cream ale. A touch of vanilla rounds out the finish.

Not really my thing, the sweet creaminess and vanilla worked against the raspberries giving it a cloying flavor for me. Others may love this. I just don’t think it was my thing. Serving: Tap

This one starts great, it is tart and fruity. But by the end of the glass it is a bit sweet.

As one would predict, the aroma is that of raspberries. The notes are brilliant without being overlypowerful or vulgar. Quite pleasant. The head is white and thin, while the brew is gold with a mild hint of pink. The taste is a marvelously balanced harmony between raspberry and hops. Though it is sweet, it is much like the aroma itsefl, not overpoweringly so. It is light and creamy on the palate, finishing crisply with a raspberry aftertaste. This ale is very drinkable and would make a great session ale.

Sampled on tap at the brewpub (Villa Park, IL). Pours a rich copper fiery amber head, darker and thicker haze, a small frothy offwhite head sits atop and dies to a ring, decent lacing overall. Aromas are some juicy raspberries, a bit seedy, with some spice, yeast, bready malts, flaked wheat, and gentle coriander. Light touches of citrus. Very wheaty, some estery fruit, as the raspberry isn’t as potent as expected. Initial is quite lovely, a potent fruity raspberry meets citrusy orange and lemon, some estery fruit, flaked wheat, crisp cereal grains. A firm yet lighter body, the raspberry kisses the palate with a touch of tartness into the middle. Sweetness is there, but doesn’t overwhelm. Some great flavors with a fruity crisp finish, a touch of dryness. Pretty well put together fruit beer. The base Jumping Cow’s quality aids it.

Sample glass at the brewpub as this batch was introduced. Appeared a cloudy, reddish/orange with a light head and not much lacing. Nose was a little biscuit and tangy fruit. The flavor was dominated by the tart raspberry and finished with a slight hop dryness. Carbonation was low at this point as adjustments were being made with the CO2. The tart nature over a sweetened variety makes this fruit beer appealing.

On tap at brewpub. Pourws hazy orange with white head. Aroma is mostly raspberries and some light grains. Flavor is dominated by raspberries with light grains. Has a tart finish. Mild flavored and softly carbonated. Not to bad.

On tap at the brewpub. The body was dark broanze to orange with an off white head. The aroma was strong real raspberries with some muffins. The taste was raspberries, but not overly sweet. There was also a decent floral quality. A nicely done fruit beer.

This draft brew from the brewery poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized tan colored bubbles that were quickly diminishing and left behind a transparent softly carbonated light red brown colored body. The mild aroma was malty and raspberry. The flat mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish. The mild flavor contained notes of raspberry. Not one that I would likely buy again.

On tap at Lunar. Poured a clear medium caramel with a short white head. Sweet raspberries in a very soft aroma.. not bad, but I had trouble getting anything else out of there. Tart raspberry and wheat notes carry the flavor all the way through... not bad, but didn’t do it for me. Lighter-bodied with well-integrated raspberry tartness and light bitterness.. tasty raspberry finish.

Rating #1037, on tap at the brewery. Cloudy bronze with a medium sized white head. Nose is strong and full of raspberries, grains and wheat. The taste is actaully pretty good for a fruit beer. Most that I experience seem watered down then with a bit of concentrate from syrup added. This is different, the raspberry is well inerlaced with the grains, malts and just a bit of hop bitterness. Drinkable and pleasant.
